Went for valentines day. Felt very rushed to order as the waiter was telling us it was very busy and we should order straight away. Asked for a knife as i wasn't given one and this was delivered after we had almost finished the meal. One tapas dish was not brought over. We were not offered more drinks when we had finished our first but the glasses were taken away. Food was okay but would not recommend the mussels as they had a very strange and strong smell.

My experience at Cadiz which was formerly Carnival was hugely disappointing! Having been a regular at Carnival over the years I have to say that everything has changed for the worse! I Booked a table of twelve to celebrate my daughters birthday on a Sunday. When we arrived there was only another party of 4 so it was not very busy. Lorenzo made a brief appearance and then left his cousin to deal with customers! I noted that there was one female chef in the kitchen. We had to wait over an hour for the main courses to be served and this does not include the 30 minutes we waited for some late arrivals. The food itself was also under cooked and when I confronted Lorenzo's cousin about the time it took to bring out just 12 main courses, his response was a volley of excuses and poor attitude which just compounded the poor experience! There is also a bar next to the restaurant which had some poor karaoke and some drunkard people opening the door and attempting to sing to us in a very incoherent way. This just added to what was a terrible experience. My advice to Lorenzo is to regain your focus and find a way to deliver the quality of food and service that you used to deliver when it was Carnival. I would also try segregate the next door bar as the last thing people want to hear while eating there food is to listen to the drunks opening doors and bellowing out incoherent tunes. I would also speak with your staff and get them to improve the cooking and service.

Food is all freshly cooked and so tasty. Big portions compared to other tapas restaurants

We have been here on several occasions,lovely food. Lorenzo who runs it is always helpful and attentive. Would recommended.

Poor service made this a very disappointing first experience of Cadiz restaurant. Despite there being only four covers at any time while we were there, the service was unexplainably slow. The service staff/manager lacked any attentiveness and friendliness and an adjacent table also complained to us of the same thing having waited an age to get their drinks. Before even having time to look at the menu, we were offered bread and olives to which we said yes but found out afterwards come in at a price of £9!!! The olives arrived, but we didn’t see the bread for 15-20 minutes despite reminding the staff. We you even suggested cancelling it to replace it with something else from the menu, but was told it was already in the oven! However, a couple arrived after us short after they sat down and long before us. Throughout the evening we had to approach the waiter/manager to chase our orders while he sat at his laptop at the bar at the bar. From a food perspective, the food was generally okay and as others have mentioned the pork cheeks are very good and I enjoyed the patatas con huevos y jamon. The jamon croquetas, which are usually a favourite tapas of mine, however were disappointingly stodgy and dry/pasty. If the service had been better, we may have considered returning as we’re always looking for opportunities to support local restaurants. But based on this experience it’s unlikely I would recommend returning to Cadiz which is a real shame really as it doesn’t take much to be more attentive to your customers.

went here with work collegues, was greated by very friendly staff and their very young helper (baby daughter ). Never pushed to order or rushed. The food was excellant, as was the service and as was the price. Another plus point there was no service charge added to the bill.

Very good food as normal .....but just one thing .....when we ask for our Paella and main course to be served after we have FINISHED our tapas starter please take note. Yet again last night our main courses arrived as we were still eating our tapas . Please please serve it after .......not just take it back and keep warm ......this isn't the first time it has happened either. Apart from that everything was as good as it normally is
