   We love having lunch there. My chicken salad sandwich was exceptional. Would go back just for that! (We live in Houston).

   Our server was exceptional, the ambiance was exactly what we wanted. Our reservationist set us next to the window, loved it all.

   Jeanette exceeded expectations as our waitress!! She was so attentive and personable. She made the experience so much warmer. The food was amazing and light and the price is reasonable.

   So thrilled Cafe Modern has brought back the Wine Dinner series at Cafe Modern. Last week I had the opportunity to attend the Van Duzer Vineyards dinner and it was one of the top dining experience I've ever had. From the innovative, ingredient forward menu created by Chef Jett to the elevated wine pairings of Van Duzer's block pinots highlighted by Winemaker Eric Misiewicz, to the open kitchen concept so guests can see the process and how the menu elements paired with the wines, made for an informative, educational and delicious evening. It truly was an artform to see how the evening was orchestrated, highlighting the teamwork behind your dining and tasting experience. Sign me up for the next one, please!

   This was chef-wine dinner. Jett Mora, the executive chef, prepared an amazing seven course dinner to go with seven wines. Service was excellent and always a pretty view. Quiet roomy venue. It doesn't get any better. Thank you Jeff, The Modern and Eric. Eric is the winemaker at Van Duzer Vineyards, the wines.

   Terrible !!! Screaming guitar music and freeze you out a/c on a cold winter day. Appears management is more concerned about pleasing the kitchen staff than the paying customers. Wait staff & food was great, but negated by the above.

    Although I was hoping for brunch, and Cafe Modern only serves brunch on Sundays, I found the omelette with arugula salad to be a fine brunch item. The omelette was delicious and the dressing on the salad very good. They served a basket of focaccia bread which was exceptional! I also really like the mimosa drinks menu. I especially like the French Mimosa and find it affordable at $12. This trip to the Modern was to celebrate a friend's birthday, and she really enjoyed it. It felt special, she said. Another thing I like about Cafe Modern is the staff. I've been going to this cafe since it opened and the staff have been unfailingly pleasant and efficient. If you want to go somewhere without music playing in the background and no TVs, this is a good place.
