   I ordered the Eggplant Parmesan and it was delicious. Nathaniel was my server and was super attentive and a pleasure to meet. I ordered a side of pasta and Caesar Salad, both were delicious. I’ll definitely return.

   What a great Italian night! The cute bay that this boots in creates an enticing atmosphere. The drinks were great, the food was delicious and no one tried to rush us out. We liked it so much we booked it again for tonight.

   Café Portofino does not disappoint… it’s one of our favorites. The fresh, delicious food, service and ambience coupled with gentle Kauai breezes keep us coming back. It feels like home.

   Nice food options. Service was excellent. They had a kids menu which was nice. The pizza was sooo good.

   The service was almost nonexistent. We ordered an appetizer and salads and it took almost a hour to get the food. It took almost 10 minutes after being seated to have a waiter stop by and get our drink orders ( ice tea) then almost 15 minutes for him to bring it. When the bread arrived it was just “Here” and placed on the table. We ordered salads and there was so much oil dressing on it that it was dripping of oil. The salads took almost 25 minutes after being ordered to arrive. Never received a refill on our teas. Was never asked if we wanted a dessert. When we finally saw our waiter and asked for the check it was another 20 minutes to get it. When he took our card it was 15 minutes for him to bring it back. Overall for an appetizer and salads it took almost an hour and half. Unless you have all night to spend I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

   Firstly they post a children’s menu on their website and we had 2 children but no menu was offered. What surprised me was when the child ordered an item she viewed on line the waiter seemed surprised she wanted a children’s portion! Secondly when the child ordered a a ginger ale the waiter brought her a old fashioned Glass full of ice and we were not sure if it was ginger ale or water, so watered down and it turns out they charged us 5$ not big deal but just making a point! Thirdly he brought us a alcohol Beverage when it was clearly given it was not wanted! Fourth a tip was added to the bill without my consent one which based on the service I would not have given!

   Very good service, nice view of Kalapaki beach. Food was so-so, not bad but nothing great either. Prices were reasonable.

    We have enjoyed Cafe Portofino, Kauai every visit for a number of years. Not to be missed; it is excellent in every aspect. Don’t let the “Cafe” name fool you; this is a full service restaurant.
