   We arrived on time and were shown to our table. We were allocated 1845 hours on a Friday evening. Our order was taken quickly and we ordered the seafood platter. The restaurant was busy and with only 4 waiting staff delivery was slow prompting us to ask how long. A problem arose when the platter arrived, there was basically no room on the table. Staff commented, they couldn’t know what people would order, to match the table size. Eating was awkward, which was a shame as the platter was lovely. We left later but staff were so busy they could not stop to stay goodbye, shame really lovely place.

   Great lunch, great service, and nice drinks. Really enjoyed our visit. Will definitely return.

   Finding the restaurant is half the knack. It used to have its own entrance but you now have to get in via the pub, which is a lively place (to say the least) and on the night we were there it was pre-match and they were playing music much too loud which affected the ambience of the restaurant. Frankly the only conversation that could be had was shouted. The service was excellent, the food was fantastic and the whiskeys that we had with each course were brilliant. Exactly as described in the menu and lush. Thanks.

   Very nice meal served by very nice, helpful staff. The place was extremely busy and had a great atmosphere. The food was simple and good, especially the wood pigeon, black pudding and puy lentils and, the rum truffle cake with black cherries was to die for. We shall return for sure

   Been here several times allbeit in the evening. Had light lunch, steak sandwich. Terrible. Had to search for the steak!! Disappointed.

   A real gem of a place with amazing decor.It takes you back in time, and the service and food were both excellent.
