Established in 1997, Caffe Riace, a robust Palo Alto trattoria, offers conviviality, homemade specialties and family-style warmth. Caffe Riace, one of many fine restaurants in the California Avenue area, is family owned and operated and features outdoor dining on it's spacious private piazza. Every dish is made with honest expertise. Caffe Riace is also a popular venue for wedding receptions, business meetings, graduations and other special events. If you’re looking for an intimate dining experience, we offer private dining rooms accommodating up to 40 guests. Our patio can host up to 200 guests and is a wonderful venue for dining experience.

We're longtime residents of the area but only discovered Cafe Riace last night. What a delightful experience. The menu is not fancy, but the selections we had (dishes of eggplant, caprese, canneloni and salmon) were all delicious. Fine professional service. We met the owners, who own four other respected restaurants, including the better known and much loved Osteria Toscana in downtown Palo Alto. Cafe Riace's location a few blocks south of the busy restaurant district on California Ave. is off the beaten track, but that makes parking super easy. It's also a spacious restaurant (but still with a cozy feel), including a lovely outdoor eating area (replete with statues of Roman gods and goddesses) which means a quieter atmosphere .Ce commentaire est-il utile?

The food at Riace is always spectacular, as is the service. The bolognese is the best anywhere, and the pasta alla norma is something special. Cafe Riace is a grand old lady restaurant of Silicon Valley. So many start ups were hatched or fed at her tables. Once she always had white table cloths. But even now, with glass tables, the ambiance is very special, overlooking the fountain, and the service is outstanding as is the wine and the desrts (afogato was perfect on a hot day). We ordered bruschetta that was not quite correct until we doused it with their fabulous olive tapinade and brought it up to Italian par. I would always order this starter instead of their bread and ask for the tapinade. I had a Ceasar salad with grill salmon and the salmon was PERFECTLY GRILLED! I mean it was great.
