Calhoun’s Bearden is located at 6515 Kingston Pike, very close to I-40/I-75 (Papermill Road Exit) in West Knoxville. This is the home of our custom-built, steam-heated microbrewery where we handcraft specialty beers to the taste of Tennesseans. The brewery’s copper kettles can easily be seen from most seating in this contemporary atmosphere. Calhoun's has become a place where friends and family gather to celebrate what’s good in their lives while they sample some of Tennessee’s best BBQ, ribs, steak, and sandwiches. Calhouns never fails to deliver great food, good service, and a clean restaurant. Order the cheddar cheese salad dressing! It's not on the menu, but locals know about it and it's the best!

Customers for years, this is our 3rd consecutive bad visit and likely our last. Only five tables total with customers at 7:45 on Saturday yet not seated till 8:00 reservation . Then did not see anyone for over 10 minutes. 10 more minutes for iced tea which stayed empty most meal. (Could not find anyone to ask) Soup/chili came out cold and no spoon. Next time we saw the server I told her about the soup and she replied ok and eventually brought me a spoon. Not hot soup. The salad ordered and confirmed with No Tomatoes was literally covered with juicy chopped tomatoes. When we told the server she asked can you just pick them out? We said there are too many and very juicy so flavor would be on everything. She said oh, are you allergic to them? 10 more minutes got a new salad. Bread was cold and hard. Finally got up from table and got the tea pitcher from serving station myself. Server never even noticed it on the table when she finally came with the check. To top off the evening a stop at the restroom and it was so horrendous I came out and my wife said hers was worse and we stopped at the gas station which was better. Too bad because it seems the food could have been good but a lack of caring about quality, service and cleanliness has definitely taken over.

Busy Christmas Eve - we had made reservations in advance and were seated immediately. Our server was really busy but still very attentive and congenial. The food was delicious - congrats to kitchen, wait staff and management for enhancing our family time. Your presence at work on Christmas Eve was much appreciated and we do not take that for granted.

We went after a UT game, so expected it to be busy. Our table was sticky. Our waitress was doing her best, but appetizers came out without plates. Took a long time for drinks from the bar. The floor was dirty. Our steak was cooked properly, but wasn’t warm. Our burger was ordered medium rare, but came out well done. We frequent Knoxville, as we have a student there. This was our first time at Calhoun’s and I don’t think we would go back.

One word… Disappointing! Pork plate was cold and mealy, ribs were cold, Mac n cheese had no flavor. Brisket was good, but not great. Would recommend looking at other options.

Not impressed at all with Calhoun's. Not sure what has happened with this restaurant but it has gone down hill over time. Feels like a sports bar instead of a nice sit down restaurant. Employees were dressed way over board for Halloween and the atmosphere was unprofessional. Food was just so so for the price point. Very disappointed. Probably won't return to a Calhoun's for a while.

We waited 2 hours for our food. Just not a good experience. Food was just ok. We won’t be back.

We did a 3:45 reservation, requesting bar room seating. When we arrived, we were taken to a booth, in the bar area, with very limited views of the televisions. The area, at that time, was not busy. Many tables were needing to be cleaned. We requested better seating and waited while a table was cleaned. Very strange for this to be a football afternoon Saturday with many people waiting to be seated before heading to the stadium, as we were. Food was good, as usual, but I miss the generous house salad that was served just months ago.
