We booked dinner here for Saturday night as we were staying on the property for vacation. We ate here at 5pm on Saturday. I do not recommend eating here for dinner on Saturday night as most weekends there are weddings on property, and receptions are also held in the restaurant - there’s a big ballroom that has windows dividing the restaurant seating from the ballroom, but no soundproofing measures have been taken so the entire restaurant was drowned out in the music from the wedding reception. I couldn’t even talk across the table. Coupled with the servers walking in and out of the ballroom serving dinner, I felt like an unwanted guest at the wedding reception. If you’re going to eat here, eat at breakfast - good views, quiet, and relaxing way to start the day.

Worst experience in a restaurant in a very long time. Waited over 20 minutes for our server to show up to our table. Cocktails were awful. Server forgot to order our appetizer, so we had none. Dinner (snapper) took forever to be brought , and then it was cold, and tasteless. Asked the server to bring us lemon, to give the fish some taste. He forgot that too!!! Never again!!!

Never had prime rib with thick brown gravy. Au jus? Yes. This stuff? No. Then, the meat tasted like gas, it was terrible. The skiff appetizer was outstanding. Key Lime pie was horrible and they charged gratuity on a party of two. Extremely disappointed.

A very disappointing experience nearly on all levels. It started with a nice table on the veranda, lovely setting. It deteriorated rapidly when we realized the "hot zone" family with four coughing, spewing children, all under 6, was two tables over. Not the restaurant's fault, understood. But distracting and extremely annoying with the parents making no effort to have them cover their mouths, sit down at the table, etc. Hey parents, how about room service under these circumstances! Service from Jordan was lackluster at best. No bread/rolls basket provided. No follow up once our entree's were served. Finally got his attention once he was done fawning over the table of young ladies next to us to inquire why my entree and my wife's had the same red beans and coconut (another story) rice, whereas my wife's was described to come with caribbean peas an rice. After a moment or two of "these aren't peas"/"yes they are", he finally explained that in the caribbean red beans are peas. My question was then why does the menu refer to the same sides as two different things for different entrees? Misleading. As for the "coconut" rice, not a hint of that flavor that either of us could detect. Also, it was quite dry. I had the whole fried yellow tail, which arrived nicely presented. Unfortunately, it was overcooked by probably a minute or two and, therefore, on the dry side. The flavor was very good. My wife had the Florida mahi. It was a disaster. Way overcooked. Unfortunately, the guava glaze only partially helped since it was so cloyingly sweet it was like an overbearing dessert sauce. And the mango-vanilla sauce was indecipherable from the glaze. For dessert we have the pecan and banana (where?) rum cake with ice cream. Maybe it's just not our thing, but the raw rum flavor was overpowering and just too much. Bottom line: over the course of our 4-night stay, we drove to other nearby restaurants for our remaining dinners and did mot return to Calusa.
