From the OpenTable editors: This massive open-flame restaurant charmed diners with fire pits, a wall decorated with camping gear, and warm communal vibes when it opened in 2016. It still has powerhouse status thanks to an excellent craft cocktail program and seasonal wood-fired masterpieces, which could include fire-roasted octopus with green harissa or smoked coffee-rubbed brisket.

At Campfire, we do something special for all groups of 7-12 guests, as we invite large parties to gather together and feast. The Feast is a fixed four-course, family-style meal priced at $80 per guest. You won’t have to make any decisions, as we'll take care of everything, cooking up some of our favorite dishes from every section of the menu. If your group includes young children, please email hello@thisiscampfire.com for help with your booking. Cancellations may be made up to 24 hours in advance of your reservation. Same day cancellations are not eligible for refunds. Tax and 20% Gratuity applied at checkout.

The broccoli was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. The amazingness of that broccoli was shrouded only by the despair knowing I lack the skills and equipment to recreate that wonderful taste on my own

Visiting San Diego and found recommendations to try Campfire if in the area. Decided to suggest it to my sister who lives in San Diego and we went up on a Sunday evening. The vibe was amazing, everyone was great, staff and patrons. We joked a lot with our server and the bartender. Food was great. We got a few appetizers and entrees to split across the table. The Cornbread was amazing, as was the chicken, and ribeye.

The staff at campfire were phenomenal. We had a great experience and loved every dish. There was something of a gap between the small plates and the entrees, but the great cocktails we had in the meantime made up for it.

I was lucky to find a last minute reservation to celebrate a friends birthday. She recommended the restaurant after seeing it in the Michelin guide. The location is great! It’s blocks from Interstate 5, the Carlsbad Village shops, and the boardwalk. The restaurant is just steps away from the Carlsbad Village Coaster station parking lot. The theming of the restaurant is great. Our group of four sat outside but there were plenty of heaters to keep guests warm. There was a tent at one end of the outdoor area and bonfire pit in the center. The food was delicious! Based off of the menu (Winter), you would not think the combination of ingredients would work, but our group loved every single item we tried. Our group definitely recommends the flamekeeper and firesquad for drinks, oysters and prawn from the trailhead/appetizer, the broccoli from kindling/shareable, the octopus, market fish, and pork from the fire/entree, and last but not least the s’mores from the trail’s end/dessert section. Service was superb! Our servers, Caden & Olivia were super friendly, guest oriented, and attentive. When our tables food was delivered, the servers gave a brief description of each dish. The check was given in a field notes notebook that had messages/notes written in it by previous guests which I thought was a cool and unique touch. Highly recommend dining at Campfire in Carlsbad.
