   This has got to be one of the best restaurants in Portland. Their food is consistently excellent and every item on their menu is special. The seasonal offerings are on point as are the items they have consistently. The service is also just great - friendly and attentive. They do a great job pacing out food with the kitchen and when the guest is ready for the next course. Everything is so well done that most guests probably don't realize how well orchestrated everything is.

   We love tapas and this is the place to go if you want an authentic Spanish tapas dining experience. We drove from Eugene, Oregon. The food was on point, wonderful atmosphere and great service! Did not disappoint and would go back again.

   We love dining at Con Font. It is our go to restaurant when we visit Portland. The food is superb, the ambience is excellent, and the wait staff is so attentive. I tried the ceviche last night. It was so delicious. We had the crab cake croquettes, beet and goat cheese salad, the varied marinated olives, the fried calamari, and the Negra paella which we always order. I would highly recommend Con Font for a special dining experience! It is the best restaurant that consistently thrills us to dine there!

   We decided the best way to try the flavors was to mix/share a bunch of starters. All the food was excellent and the server was top-notch. I can't imagine anyone who could find a reason to complain.

   Excellent overall. Was made comfortable at a nice table as a single. Servers were a bit busy but waits were not too long. Both gazpacho and filete mignon were outstanding as was the cheesecake. Server was friendly and attentive. Would definitely return.

   I have to say, I was a little disappointed for a few reasons. We arrived 10 min prior to our reservation time and while we were promptly greeted and seated, it took 40 minutes to get our cocktails. Their Negroni Blanc is very good btw. We were a party of 8 and they were very accommodating as I kept increasing our party size, so that was good. We'd been to Can Font several times prior and I remembered the white table cloths. I asked if we'd have one and were told yes. Turns out the table that accommodates 8 is a "special" table and they do not put a table cloth on it. We were celebrating a 60th birthday and a table cloth was important to me. We ordered several cocktails and several appetizers. When it came time for our main food order, one of the guests and I wanted to share a paella (given everything we'd already consumed)....but were told "No sorry, the paella's are priced per person". Really? And btw paella starts at $40. As for the food itself, the COLES DE BRUSELAS were fantastic. Get two. The PAN CON TOMATE, while light, fresh and good, is better at Bar Casa Vale imo. The PAELLA C/ POLLO Y CHORIZO IBERICO was just ok. I found it to be a little bland and dry. Personally I prefer the Shrimp and Chorizo paella at Matador for almost half the price, $22. There are too many other great choices in Portland that are more accommodating. It's doubtful we'll go back.

    Gotta be fair here. While the food was nicely prepared and attractively served, the flavors were sort of subdued. The octopus and scallop appetizer was very nicely cooked but pepper/potato puree it perched on was pretty tame. The pan con tomato tasted less than freshly crushed, more like a good canned/boxed crushed tomato and was served on Ken's bread, again, not particularly authentic. Good, but just good. The beet salad was also just so-so. It's like classic Spanish food served in a flavor fog. Service was attentive but sleepy, and the employees all seemed pleasant and mature. One bright spot, the wine list and cocktail selection is excellent, and not terribly overpriced. I recommend trying Can Font, see if the tastes and textures meet your expectations. Compared to the (IMHO) excellent Bar Casa Vale, I think there is room to improve.
