Jose Enrique was featured in the 25th Anniversary edition of the Food & Wines Best New Chefs and chosen as one of the "Best New Chefs." From 2015 to 2020, he made it to the finals of the James Beard Awards- the first time ever that a Puerto Rican gets this recognition.

Located in the heart of the legendary Fairmont El San Juan Hotel, Caña is an authentic Puerto Rican restaurant featuring an elevated menu composed of fresh dishes made with local ingredients and exquisite seafood options. Featuring both tropical outdoor and indoor seating, Caña maintains the best traditions of the Island of Enchantment, old and new. Its iconic bar features unique Puerto Rican rum cocktails and a curated selection of exclusive wines, elevating the culinary experience to an unforgettable cultural celebration.     We had an amazing experience thanks to our waiter, Alberto. His recommendations for both food and drinks were spot on. As a vegetarian, I truly appreciated that he went above and beyond to serve me an off-menu vegetarian pastel—it was exactly what I was craving. Everything we ate and drank was exceptional, but Alberto’s service made our evening unforgettable. We were celebrating my husband’s 60th birthday, and without me even asking, he surprised us with a cake, making the occasion even more special. He also shared fascinating history about the hotel, which we loved learning about. Alberto was incredibly attentive, making us feel as if he had known us forever. His thoughtful and personalized service elevated our entire experience. Thank you!

    Friendly but overwhelmed server Cold starter of fritters Bland pastel with undercooked white rice Overcooked, not prepared as described on menu-there was definitely a deep fried and the fish was very tough After the food arrived, the server was not seen again until after we forked through what we could eat . Better options just outside the hotel

    Our server, Carol, was simply outstanding! She made the evening! The food was solid, my wife’s swordfish was excellent, but my snapper was slightly overcooked. The crab salad appetizer was quite good. The crème brûlée with popcorn and bourbon ice cream was very tasty. Nine dollars for a bottle of sparkling water was absurd. Drink prices were otherwise average-to-high for this area.

    Service was terrible, server was no where to be found, 30 min after seating someone took our drink order, 30 min later got our drinks and someone else took appetizer and main order. 30 min after that the app arrived which was delicious while we were finished with that and had the app plates clearly ready for clearance with the app bowl, another server placed down our mains which was decent. No space to move disnt take the apps stuff no one offered water. I had to go inside and find manager to be able the check that I flinched at paying. Worst experience. Next time I'll pay better attention to the bad reviews.

    I had high expectations and they were deflated o ce my entrée arrived. I had a different interpretation of what pan fry was. The red snapper I was excited to see on the menu was a dry piece of deep fried fish. Our wait person was very attentive and suggested the Salmon which was delicious. Overall high priced for the quality of food. Service was pleasant.

    This was the slowest service I have ever had at a restaurant. There was one server for way too many tables. We waited 50 minutes from the time we sat down to when we got our cocktails. The appetizers came and were finished before we got the drinks! And then when we ordered wine, it took forever to come, arrived after we had finished our entrees. The food was good, but it was such a disappointing and annoying meal due to the lack of service. They need to hire more people.

    Great experience with a dinner reservation for our anniversary. Waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. Gave great suggestions We sat outside with a wonderful view of the resort pools and outdoor areas. Food came out very flavorful and the plating was very nice as well. Manager waiter hostess and bartender all 10/10
