Candela Cucina is an upscale Italian restaurant from Servedwell Hospitality in the historic Candleworks building. Candela Cucina is not just another Italian American restaurant, Candela is an authentic Italian restaurant. Candela’s menu ranges from classic Italian dishes to innovative contemporary creations, all crafted with the finest ingredients.

This new concept from Servedwell Hospitality is in partnership with Peter Biondi. Pete has opened other Servedwell concepts and has worked at several NYC Michelin-starred restaurants. The menu is crafted and overseen by Chef Josh Riazi. Josh has been overseeing all Servedwell’s culinary development and operations since 2018. Josh has worked in several highly acclaimed restaurants; most notably, Josh was Executive Chef at Al Forno in Providence, RI. Josh is assisted by Chef Joe Melo, a Servedwell alum, who will oversee daily culinary operations at Candela.

    Candela was awesome! Another Servedwell triumph for New Bedford! They have assembled a terrific management team gathering favorites from other Servedwell establishments- and created an ambience that has “warmed up” what was first Candleworks and then Carmines- much more intimate and comfortable! The selection is great/ so is the presentation. Looking forward to their being open for lunch as well! An upscale Italian restaurant Needed to be available in NB, making a drive to Providence no longer a necessity! Bravo Zola Stephen and Company! Welcome back Peter❤️

    Your instantly greeted when coming which I appreciate, the food and drinks were amazing especially the shrimp con limone! The staff was also very nice and attentive.

    Wow, what a place! These guys hit it out of the park. Place looks like somewhere Frank Sinatra would go. Food and hospitality may be the best in the region. A must go.

    Enjoyed our first dinner tonight at Candela Cucina! Our server was excellent and many additional staff checked in with us throughout our meal. The ambiance inside is warm, cozy with earthy tones. Our appetizer of shrimp arancini was delicious. Followed with Chicken Parmesan and Pasta Bolognese. We finished with a Tiramisu dessert made in - house which was full of flavor!

    Our eagerly-awaiting reservation was @3:45 on their first Saturday night. The new decor is so tasteful & well done & the service was outstanding…our wait-person answered our questions on their new menu & seemed well-versed. Our food was as delightful to our eyes as well as our palate: outstanding. Our food courses were a bit slow in coming out of the kitchen but it did not deter from our experience and we will definitely be back.

    Fantastic dining experience at Candela Cucina!!! Highly recommended!! Our server, Paige, was very personable, friendly, helpful....and any other favorable adjectives! Peter greeted us like he'd known us forever. Very personable, helpful...see above ;-) . We'll definitely be returning very soon!!! Well done everyone!
