Executive chef: Matthew Basford

From the OpenTable editors: At this iconic restaurant located on the banks of the Chattahoochee River, the setting is as spectacular as the elegant farm-to-table fare. Have been over a dozen times for weekend brunch in last several years, more often since we used to live in Vinings. Glad they were able to stay open and continue after the flooding. Definitely a neighborhood gem. I think the service kind of ruined the experience for us and our guests this visit. We don't live 15 min away like before; now it takes us >1hr from NE metro Atlanta to get there; so, it's a big deal for us to come out vs eating locally. Had guests from Canada and wanted them to experience an amazing brunch like we've experienced in the past. Our waiter was really pushy; it's like guy had to be somewhere (reminded me of the rabbit in Alice in wonderland). The scones we asked about were 1/2 correct; if had it written down and he looked at it on paper, we wouldn't have cared. In the past when we asked for a basket of baked goods for appetizer we could switch a scone or a sticky bun, just 1 or maybe 2 out of 8; this time it was a firm "no, we can't do that." Riverside entree was okay this time; Another Broken Egg or Egg Harbor does it better. I think our 1 of our guests enjoyed their meal while the other mentioned it was okay. When she asked about vegetarian options, the waiter said, "we don't have many options; we can do a vegetable plate or a pasta." Say what? I KNOW that's not correct. The service today was not at par today and overall kind of ruined it for us. The grounds are beautiful of course but seems like the back area is not like it used to be after the flooding- can see they did what they could though and cant lose marks for that. Not sure if it's worth a 1 hour drive anymore. Might have bee a different experience if the waiter cared about what he was doing. What we noticed is the service seems to deteriorate with parties if 6 or more because the tip is automatic no matter what.

Was so looking forward to brunch while in town. Service was outstanding but main courses were ok. Eggs cold and shrimp on the shrimp salad dish was just semi-warm and didn’t have much flavor. Almost like our meal sat at the pass too long. Would have expected more when spending $200 + for 4 guests for brunch food. On positive side the salmon appetizer was outstanding!! Will try again next time in area.

Unfortunately we had a gentleman at the table next to us using his speakerphone having a conversation while eating his dinner. We asked for a manager to ask him to take the phone call outside, but the manager only materialized after he had paid his check and was leaving anyway. In addition, interestingly, they have a sign at the front door with a suggested dress code that a few individuals choose to ignore and once again management takes no action. Why have a suggested dress code if not enforced? Personally, I think that’s an insult to the majority of your patrons that choose to follow the dress code.

Brunch food was good. Service not so good. Waiter got the order wrong and servers did not know where to put plates down. Waiter not very nice to one of our guests. Valet was very nice. Were in a nice room near windows but very noisy. At these prices may not return.
