Stationed in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago, Cantina Rosa is a tropical cocktail bar focused on agave spirits and featuring delicious Mexican inspired snacks from Virtue Hospitality.

Bar's terms and conditions
We are grateful for your support. Please take a moment to read all of our restaurant's policies. We accept reservations for up to 6 guests. We require a $15 per person deposit at the time of making the reservation and it is applied to the final bill. As a courtesy to all of our guests we allow 90 minutes for all of our reservations along with a 15 minute grace period for late arrivals. If you have any questions please reach out to the restaurant directly at 773-420-3735. All guests must be 21+ to enter the bar.

It was. Our first time going and it was good to experience it. Service was quick as we received our drinks and food within a reasonable.Amount of time and it was delicious which let us know that we will be coming back

The decor was beautiful, it was very quiet inside. The server was excellent. I had the tamales which were tasty but very spicy to me because I can't eat spicy things. The chicken empanada was delicious. The guacamole was underwhelming. It looked like pureed avocado, not much flavor. The guava frozen drink was AMAZING. A must try. I wish they had a larger food menu but the waiter stared it was Moreso a tropical bar with light bites.

Cantina Rosa is an exquisite restaurant! I highly recommend this restaurant. Our waitress Maria was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was delicious, fresh but the only downside was portions could’ve been a little bit more. The ambience was beautiful and the restaurant was very clean. My overall experience was wonderful. I’d definitely go back!

Great addition to the Hyde Park area. I went with a group of friends and we all enjoyed the food, drinks, and ambiance. We ordered the entire menu and enjoyed each bite. Catina Rosa’s primarily focus are their cocktails. Each drink we ordered was quite tasty. The food(l (although small bites) was very good. We really enjoyed the guacamole, Barbacoa de borrego, and the Empanadas. Honestly, everything we ordered was good. Also, special shout out to our server Steven. He was really nice and helpful. If you’re wavering on rather or not you should give them a try…please do. I think you will enjoy yourself.

Wonderful experience! The cocktails and food were absolutely outstanding. The employees' team work was noticeable and much appreciated. I look forward to returning.

This is a welcomed restaurant to Hyde Park! Good mexican food has been a missing element in Hyde Park and Cantina Rose fills a much needed void. First, and I think the focus is intended to be Cocktails, the drink list looks great. I had the Paddle Cactus and it had a great refreshing taste and a note of the mezcal loomed in the background. Very delicious. My highlight was the food. I order the Ceviche and Barbacoa de Borrego. Both were phenomenal. The Ceviche has a wonderful balance and not too spicy, but came with what I thought was a very spicy Arbol salsa. It allowed me the ability to dial in just the right amount of heat for me. The leche de tigre was also delicious. I had to resist the urge to pick up the plate and slurp the leche down. The Barbacoa was a big hit. The lamb fell apart and was extremely favorful. The rice was perfect. The fresh lime brought out a bright crisp taste. And the corn tortilla we fresh and hot. For dessert, I had the Pecan Cookies. They transported me back to every Mexican wedding I went to as a child as these cookies always appeared as an end of the celebration treat. They were a special treat for me. Other may find them dry, but that is how they are intended to be. Make sure you have a drink to accompany them. I had the Activo Whiskey (I didn't know they made a whiskey) and it was a perfect match for the cookies. I have enjoyed Activo Tequilas in the past and this whiskey had a nutty flavor and smooth balance, but with a little bite. It had similar note to the Activo Extra Anejo. I can't wait to go back and try more of the dishes and drinks.
