We tried it again after being underwhelmed the first couple of times. And these were over the span of several years. I’m not sure why others enjoy it. We have not. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing. The Caesar salad was drenched in Parmesan and dressing. Inedible. My veal scallopini tasted of cheap fried chopped steak and the appearance was unappetizing. The fettuccine Alfredo was cold when it came out. On top of poor quality, the servers brought out food without clearing any previous dishes, and kept bringing drinks in new glasses. The table was a cluttered mess. Thankfully, they took my meal off the check without us asking. The building and ambiance are lovely and deserve to have a 5 star restaurant to follow. I wish this were the case. Visit three, another fail.

Personally, I did not care for the vegetable lasagna, it was too strong of a tomato flavor, I could not taste the cheese or vegetables at all. I also did not like their bread; I prefer a French bread and there was not an option. For the price I would have expected a small soup or salad. I will not go back as there is another Italian restaurant in North Little Rock with better food, prices and service in my opinion.

Our dining experience lived up to the reviews as well as the quality of food. The portions were small and expensive for what the price of a entree cost. However, the food was delicious. I would eat here again but only for a special occasion.

Dinner at Capeo was terrific last night. My fettuccine Alfredo with chicken was tender & delicious, & my husband said his linguine with clam sauce was excellent. Atmosphere was intimate & pleasant, & server Guy anticipated our every need. We left happy & satisfied.

FAQs

Yes, Capeo is a popular choice for date night. Guests frequently praise the cozy, romantic ambiance, attentive service, and well-crafted cocktails, making it ideal for a special evening. The dining room feels intimate in the historic Argenta building, and the wine cellar and full bar add to the experience. Reservations are recommended for busy nights or show evenings. If you want a quieter table, request a window or a spot away from the front door when you book.

Guests most often rave about the lasagna, many call it one of the best in the area, along with seasonal specials like elk and seafood specials (swordfish, lobster & shrimp pasta). Other frequently praised items are the risotto, Caesar salad, fried sage leaves, and desserts like tiramisu and white chocolate crème brûlée. If you want a recommendation, ask your server about the nightly special or the house-made lasagna.

For a quieter, more relaxed visit, aim for early weeknights or an early seating, guests note weekdays and early dinners are less busy. Avoid Friday/Saturday evenings and large show nights (Simmons Arena) when the restaurant is busiest. Reservations are recommended anytime, and calling ahead for a preferred table helps on busy evenings.

Capeo is busiest on Friday and Saturday evenings, holiday nights and when there are nearby events or shows (Simmons Arena), with a lively, full dining room. Quieter times are weekday evenings and early seating times when the room is more relaxed. Because patterns can change, reservations are recommended for weekends and event nights.

Yes, Capeo runs nightly and seasonal specials and a risotto of the day, so the menu rotates at times. Guests frequently mention specials (elk, swordfish, seasonal seafood) in reviews, and the kitchen prepares many items in-house which supports menu variation. Ask your server about that day’s specials when you arrive.

Yes, Capeo has a full bar and an extensive wine cellar. Guests frequently praise the cocktails (Mozza-Tini, Limoncello-Tini) and the curated wine list, plus beer and non‑alcoholic sparkling options. The menu lists wines by the glass and bottles, signature cocktails, dessert wines, and after-dinner cordials, so it’s a good spot for a pre- or post‑dinner drink.

Capeo primarily offers a main dining room with bar seating and some window or corner tables that guests enjoy for special occasions. Several guests mention the bar dining area and requesting window seats; staff can often accommodate seating preferences. The restaurant does not advertise a private event room, though they accept larger parties and will host celebrations, call ahead to discuss seating for groups or special layouts.

The dress code is smart casual. Guests typically dress neatly for date nights and celebrations, think nice shirts, dresses, or tidy casual wear. The restaurant’s tone is elevated but relaxed, so you won’t need formal attire unless you prefer it for a special occasion.

Yes, Capeo offers nightly or seasonal specials and frequently features a daily/weekly special (guests praise specials like elk and swordfish), plus risotto made to order. The restaurant also highlights a large wine list, signature cocktails, and special occasion service (anniversaries and birthdays). Check the server or call for that night’s specials and any promotions or prix-fixe offers.

Portions are generally generous for entrees, though guests’ experiences vary by dish. Many guests note hearty portions of pasta, lasagna and entrees (some even had leftovers), while a few mentioned smaller-than-expected pasta portions or underfilled plates on particular visits. If you’re sharing starters or want to try dessert, the menu’s appetizers and desserts are good for splitting. When in doubt, ask your server about portion size for the item you’re considering.

Families do dine here and guests frequently celebrate birthdays and special occasions, so Capeo is family-friendly in practice. The restaurant accepts larger parties and can accommodate celebrations, but the dining room leans toward an intimate, adult-oriented vibe. Specific accessibility details (ramps, ADA seating) aren’t listed, so if you need accessible seating or accommodations, call ahead so staff can prepare and reserve an appropriate table.

Warm, charming and a bit upscale, Capeo balances casual-elegant vibes with a cozy, historic setting. Weekdays (Monday–Thursday) or early-evening seatings are usually the best bet for a quieter, more relaxed experience. Capeo is open Mon–Sat; avoid Friday/Saturday nights and big local event nights if you prefer a calm atmosphere. Reservations remain a good idea any night.
