Located in the Historical Defoe Building, La Vita e Bella is spread over three intimate dining rooms. Our menu focuses on fresh, from our homemade pasta to our handcrafted desserts everything we serve is done with care.     Cardinale is great. Reasonably priced food, great wine selection. Location is ideal for pre-hockey game meals or before a concert. Will continue to go for a great meal.

    One the best Italian restaurants in Calgary, all their pasta noodles are made in house, this can be tricky, texture is perfectly done, nothing like fresh pasta noodles when done right

    Not impressed with the food sorry. Portions are very small and very pricey and very average for flavour. I don’t mind paying a high price for small portions but they better be spectacular and they miss the mark. Will not bother going back.

    We thoroughly enjoyed the food but were left ignored by our server a couple of times, once after we sat down and asked for water. He was busy chatting with another customer for several minutes about his personal life. When we wanted to pay the bill we went through 3 different people, none of them our server. One person brought us a dessert menu and never came back, when we finally flagged someone down to bring our bill he left the bill and did not come back with a machine for us to pay. After another 5 minute wait a 3rd person showed up with a machine. The staff seemed more concerned with talking to people they knew that were at the restaurant than actually doing their jobs. Would not go back, even though the food was amazing.

    Made a last minute reservation on Halloween night for me and my girlfriend. We we’re all dressed up in our costumes and we were welcomed warmly by the host. My girlfriend ordered the Spaghetti with capers and olives. The noodles were perfectly prepared and the dish was delicious, if only a little salty. I had the Casarecce Nero which was delicious, the hazelnuts were a nice touch. Would recommend Cardinale as a stop when going to a concert or an event at the BMO Centre.

    Phenomenal food that tastes fresh and high quality. Lovely staff, quaint and cozy atmosphere. Such a hidden gem in Calgary.

    Dinner for two at Cardinale is the best! We had a couple appetizers, mains and drinks. Highly recommend for a local gem!
