From the people that brought you Trattoria Carina, Pub & Kitchen and The Diving Horse comes their newest restaurant, Carina Sorella.

Carina Sorella is a casual neighborhood Italian restaurant with a focus on delicious and approachable food in a bright, vibrant atmosphere. Our menu is built around classic dishes - Spaghetti and Meatballs, Cacio e Pepe, Caesar Salad, Chicken Parmesan - but we surround that core of dishes with seasonal, chef driven specialties.

The Bryn Mawr location will include the addition of a pizza oven and a full bar, building on the smaller footprint of the existing location in Philadelphia, Trattoria Carina.

    Very good overall. Beautiful restaurant and food was mostly good. Burrata appetizer and Cherry Crumble dessert were amazing. My Pork Milanese was flavorful but overcooked and tough. We ate at the bar and the service was friendly. The atmosphere was nice except that when the door opened it was very breezy and cold at the bar or the tables near the door. We will go back because we liked the vibe very much.

    I loved the salad and Arancini as appetizers. The Bucatini Cacio E Pepe was tasty but the sauce tasted more like a chicken broth than a cheesy sauce I remember being treated to in Rome. That was a little disappointing and also the portion size. Otherwise my husband and I enjoyed our dinner there. The Pinot Griigio was light and crisp. Honestly, I was surprised that Peroni was the only draft beer on tap. I was looking forward to a Moretti.

    When they opened, the Caesar salad was fantastic. Now, with a new chef, the Caesar salad is mediocre. It was somewhat dry, and we had to ask for more dressing.

    We heard good things about Carina Sorella, but the experience was lacking. The meatballs were cold and firm, the cacio e pepe was basically just buttered spaghetti noodles with a little pepper sprinkled on top, and the onions in the tomato sauce were raw and didn’t seem to have been sautéed at all. The restaurant itself was very crowded and loud. On the plus side, our waiter was great.

    Was extremely hard to get a reservation, but we finally got one. Food was mediocre. Drinks/Wine was very expensive. Environment was nice.

    Our first visit. We had a 7:45 reservation. Valentine’s Day. The table was not ready so we went to the bar. Waited for at least 15 minutes for someone to ask if we wanted a drink. I had a wonderful glass of the Sangiovese. The hosts kept coming over to say that the table would be ready shortly. When we were finally seated, we were placed near the front door-which in February-is not an ideal situation. Every time the door opened we had a blast of winter. I felt sorry for the people at the host stand. Our server was delightful. We ordered a Caesar salad to share, the arancini( which supposed to be my dinner) the focaccia bread and the bolognese for my husbands meal. The salad, the bread and the arancini came out quickly. We waited for a very long time for the bolognese. Our server kept saying it would be out soon. It took close to 45 minutes for this to appear. We loved the food. And, we will go back. However, not on a holiday especially in winter.
