Mezcal

1.25oz Mezcal is a distilled product made from the maguey plant native to Mexico; it was produced by the natives since the 16th century. Mezcal can be made from 20 different types of agaves. The agave heads are cooked in earth ovens with wood giving the Mezcal its smoky flavor. Although it is not mandatory, some known brands of Mezcal have a maguey worm inside the bottle. The history of Tequila and Mezcal are similar, but they originate from different cultures and regions of Mexico

Ne réservez pas votre table via Open Table! J’aime beaucoup l’application Open Table qui me permet de réserver une table à n’importe quel moment de la journée. Or, ce restaurant ne l’utilise pas! À notre arrivée, j’informe l’hôtesse que j’ai une réservation pour 6 personnes au nom de Gabrielle. « Hummmm... est-ce que ce serait suis un autre nom? » - Non, c’est bel et bien au nom de Gabrielle - j’ai des réservations pour Nancy, Chantal, Sylvie, Audrey, Ginette (dans un calepin) - hummm non... ce n’est pas moi. Moi c’est Gabrielle. J’ai réservé ce matin via Open Table. L’hôtesse part et reviens 5 minutes plus tard pour me dire que les réservations Open Table sont bloquées!!! Bref, on nous a fait une table pour 6 rapidement, mais heureusement qu’on ait arrivé à 17:15 parce que le resto c’est rempli rapidement et les gens attendaient de longues minutes pour être assis. La bouffe était bonne comme d’habitude. Le service était courtois et plutôt rapide. Toutefois, on ne nous a pas offert de nouvelles consommations une fois qu’elles étaient finies. Et je suis toujours partante pour une 2 et une 3e margarita! Manque d’opportunisme ou on voulait libérer la table rapidement?

Firstly, they do NOT honor OpenTable reservations !!! Very bad 1st dining experience at this restaurant. I had so much hope for this nearby restaurant... I love the Montreal one, but the Blainville menu is a run-down version, with inadequate service and ordinary food. 1. Reservations (ZERO stars). Two persons from party tried to phone several times for reservation (450-433-4141) over 3 hours prior. Not one call answered, voice recording system was full. We ended up booking through Open Table (Reservation confirmed, Thanks for using OpenTable!, Carlos & Pepe - Blainville,... Confirmation #: 15). Upon our arrival, not only are we told that they don't honor on-line (internet) reservations, but the attendant challenged us on failing to reach them by phone!!! No apologies, just a "don't care" attitude! Poor start... 2. Service. (2 stars) We were eventually given a table for 4 (5 of us) - restaurant was not full and no waiting lines. We ordered drinks and food. We asked twice not to fill one of the beer glasses (pitcher) and the waitress still filled them all and while ordering, we made sure that the kid's mac&cheese had no hot spices, but in the end, we all received our orders EXCEPT for the Mac&cheese which the waitress forgot to order... 3. Food (1 star). The dishes were tasting good but the portions were less than adequate. The burger and chicken enchiladas were ok, but the steak burrito was small (tiny donkey...) and the fish tacos were ridiculous (tiny piece of fish in the middle of 3 small tacos). The kid's mac&cheese was probably the best plate served... We have very few good mexican offers in the laurentians... and this one doesn't make the cut.
