Here at Carluccio's, we’ve always been true to our Italian heritage and what food really means to us. The best ingredients, from the best regions, cooked with love.

We’re in the heart of the city, next to the Cambridge University buildings.

We’re open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday to Sunday. We cater for vegetarians and those who are following a gluten-free diet, with options for both on our menu.

    The wait time of nearly 20 minutes after arrival until somebody bothered to take our order was unacceptable. We were not even asked if we wished to have anything to drink while we chose from the menu. It appeared this location was chronically understaffed and the attitude of the staff was appalling, like they didn't care. As for the food, the standard was only fair, with portion sizes on the small side. I doubt we will visit this location again in the future, especially as there many more alternatives in the nearby area.

    The restaurant is a little “Tired”. Service slow and ravioli mostly pasta in a watery sauce.

    The food was excellent however we had to ask three times for a jug of water. When not came to pay we were told that cash was not acceptable. We were not given any choice of alternative payment even though cash is legal currency in the uk. Perhaps it would be better if Carluccio’s policy was that card payment is preferred, rather than such a blanket ban on cash.

    Restaurant looking slightly shabby. Good service, prompt attention as we were on a tight time schedule pre theatre matinee. Food reasonable, nothing to dislike. Limited selection of soft drinks, no lime and soda as they didn't do cordials. Overall it was OK. Think other nearby restaurants might be better for us in future.

    Our waiter Ray was brilliant - he gave excellent recommendations on the menu and as it was a special birthday he organised glasses of bubbly when we arrived. We will definitely be returning

    Although we booked a table we had to wait to be given a table food was a bit of a wait and when it arrived chips were cold when I was asked if everything was okay I told waitress about chips didn’t even get a sorry noticed the service charge was there though I normally have no problems at this venue but won’t be rushing back for lunch in the near future

    I have been a real Carluccios fan and love the Pasta Giardiniera with the spinach balls. Unfortunately the spinach balls have gone down in size and they are now minute. Service was awful today 27/11/24 in Cambridge. The 3 of us were seated but there were only two sets of cutlery. We decided on food but it took forever to take our orders. We really tried to get the waiters attention. It was very busy and some staff was running around but 3 of them were doing nothing g by the front counter. No staff was looking to a see if anyone needed something. Really poor service. There was no toilet roll in the loo. Ordered 1 cappuccino and 1 espresso before leaving. The cappuccino was very poor and it scolded my tongue. The espresso was just black coffee a percolator so we ended up taking it back and asked for a proper espresso. They apologised. Overall, I was very disappointed with carluccios today and thought that Mr Carluccio would’ve gone back to his grave seeing how his gem is being handled. Very sad 😔

    Lovely Italian menu with plenty of choice. The staff spotted that it was my birthday and came out with a delicious portion of tiramisu, complete with candle and singing! It was a lovely and unexpected touch :)

    Teatime booking, so the restaurant was fairly quiet. Service was attentive and friendly. We were not expecting "fast food" but our meals were presented within a reasonable amount of time. To us the food looked and tasted faultless, and having selected the three courses for £23 option, could not be criticised for value either. The team of servers appeared to have varying levels of experience, but it was pleasing to see them working well together to provide an overall excellent meal.
