Casa Mono et son restaurant sœur, le Bar Jamon, se situent l'un à côté de l'autre au coin d'Irving Place et 17th Street, à quelques pas à l'est de l'Union Square. De la part des éditeur·rice·s d'OpenTable: Peu d’endroits font de la nourriture espagnole aussi bien que ce chaleureux restaurant Gramercy, qui sert certaines des meilleures tapas de la ville depuis 2003.     Gran experiencia en un restaurante que conocimos hace 4 años y que mantiene su buen nivel. Desde un sencillo pan con tomate a un sofisticado foie gras, los 6 platos que probamos merecen la nota máxima. Buen servicio, amable e informado. Carta de vinos españoles con precios razonables.

    Loved it!! Small place- so try to get a reservation. Delicious tapas- I’m a pescatarian so had Bacalao, ensalada, burata with delicata squash, and Brussels sprouts.All were really good We had a quarta of Tinta wine- mix- can’t remember but it was delicious I’d go back often if it were closer to my neighborhood home. But I’ll make a point of going to Irving Place.

    What a Michelin gem, being transported to Spain for a day was so special. Every dish was insanely good and the service was phenomenal. Stand out dishes- Jamon, foie gras, duck with the mushroom crème (this was absolutely bananas), crème brûlée with fried bay leaves was like nothing I’ve ever had, scallops were marvelous too.

    We held very high expectations due to the restaurant’s consistent Michelin star recognitions, however, could not be more disappointed with the lack of any distinctive flavors or particular aspects to highlight on the food. Our order consisted of 5 small dishes, from which we could say the (1) burrata with black mission fig jam and brown butter migas, and the (2) patatas bravas were good, but not great; on the other hand, (3) bacalao croquetas and (4) crispy pig ears with spicy cucumber and cantaloupe were ok, but no different from the ones one may customarily find in any Spanish themed bakery or restaurant. The dish that really was not only bad, but almost not edible was the (5) pulpo with raw fennel and grapefruit; this consisted of three little octopus which were not correctly cooked, making them highly rubbery, and wort of all, with no flavor at all, they appear like they weren’t even applied basic condiments like salt. Our visit was in lieu of a birthday celebration and were definitively very disappointed; would not waste time or money in visiting this restaurant again, or recommend it to anyone.

    Great tapas, and great wine recommendations! We got the razor clams, fois gras, bone marrow, fideos, and pulpo for two or us.
