Casa Vega, in Sherman Oaks, opened its doors in 1956 and has been serving the people of Southern California ever since. Local residents, and even celebrities, have flocked to the family-run Mexican restaurant currently run by Christy Vega Fowler, daughter of original owner, Rafael Vega. While the decor is modern, the menu still reflects traditional Mexican menu staples. The extensive menu allows for every person to find something to enjoy. Homemade house guacamole, or one of the many soup or salad options, make for a great starter. The entree options are plentiful. Casa Vega serves everything from traditional chicken mole, a plethora of burrito options, combination plates and specialty options, such as carne chile Colorade and the signature Casa Vega molcajete. Vegan and vegetarian options are also available. Top off your meal at Casa Vega with a delicious house margarita or mojito.

Casa Vega was delicious as usual. Very festive ambience. They said they don’t have the holiday menu items until Christmas Eve so just a heads up!

Service was not that good. Got wrong food order, drinks came about 20 minutes after ordered so we just canceled the drinks.

For such a famous and renowned establishment, such a disappointment. We waited 35 minutes to be served, and had to ask passing waiters twice to get any attention while watching the tables around us (who were sat after us) already order and get their food. The food was incredibly basic and unsatisfying and the drinks were very weak. The ambiance was beautiful but I could not believe how disappointing the service was

Outrageously overpriced Mexican food and cocktails in a retro immersive environment.

Very disappointed. Food was below average. No accommodation was made to minor requests. Service was inexplicably slow and waiters were impatient. Price was not warranted for the kind of food and service.

Casa Vega was a little disappointing. We’ve been fans for a very long time. So, naturally we have a lot to compare it all to. My spouse ordered the carne asada dinner plate. The meat was hard, bland and it lacked quality. The snowball margarita, I returned. The flour tortillas that came with both meals were cold, sent back, and originally they had forgotten one order. Our server was overly assertive, short, cut and dry. He seemed to be “over it.” We arrived for dinner at 9PM; he must of been tired and it showed. He was kinda blah. I still tipped him and regretted it later. Once I paid the tab and tipped him cash he was gone, done, outta there, disappeared. This is the first time ever, since we started coming to Casa Vega, because Kris Jenner recommended it, that we were disappointed. Luckily, for me first impressions are the ones that matter the most and the very first impression of Casa. Vega was a good one. We will be back, not anytime soon. But definitely someday; we don’t t live around the corner. Happy holidays everyone 💫

Accidentally booked reservation for four at 8:00 instead of for five at 7:00. Went in with my work team and they made accommodations and set us down within 10 minutes. Very satisfied always.
