    It took forever to get our food. One side dish came after we were done eating. The staff do not speak English which makes it a difficult experience. Our waitress was either overworked or scatterbrained. Food is generally good, but the last few times we’ve ate there have been difficult experiences.

    For dinner we both had entrees, linguine and clams beef ragu both excellent. House salad great. Unfortunately the deserts were not too. Key lime pie crust hard inedible , apple crisp topping was like raw oats sugared. If they brought in desserts rather than make in-house meal would’ve been great.

    Love the rustic setting and wanted to try the lunch having been here for dinners. The service was almost non existent on the recent Saturday we went. No hostess to greet us and had to chase down waited to seat us and take our order, all which took nearly 20 minutes. Once we ordered it arrived hot and the fried chicken sandwich we wanted to try was a winner, served on a brioche bun with a dab of coke slaw and a sauce we opted out of asking for bbq instead. The grilled cheese was a bad choice made on thick bread buttered bread with scant cheese and a mound of awful sweet onion jam. It was accompanied by this class pasty tomato soup. We wish we had both ordered the fried chicken since the chef doesn’t get great led cheese requires lots of cheese.

    The food was lovely and delicious. The ambiance could hardly have been better. It was a destination in itself. I look forward to going back soon.

    Overloaded. Overpriced set menu surprise after checking website that was not updated and calling to permanent voice mail. Left before main course 1:50 minutes after arrival. Free glass of champagne was 50cl of Prosecco.

    We frequently dine at Cascade because we live in Pescadero. Through the years it’s been varied experience… great to poor. New Year’s we have never expected the best experience because most restaurants are slammed and don’t have enough staff. The wait staff was good and the first and second courses were good. When our entrees were served the lamb was delicious. The salmon entrees were awful ! I’ve had salmon at Cascade many times, prepared in several different ways. It’s always been my go to dinner there. Well, this time it was the strangest entree ever. There were very small little overdone pieces laid on a thick hollandaise sauce. It actually looked like pieces that were leftovers that they just threw some sauce on. They were very well done to the point of being inedible. I never send things back, but because this was so unappealing and overdone I asked for it to be redone. There were two of us that had the exact same thing and both entrées were exactly the same. They were horrible. We asked the waitress to please fix it. Which she did. But when it came back, the salmon was in a Roulette and totally raw in the middle and cold. We didn’t say anything and got a to go box, heated it up the next day in the microwave and 5 minutes later it was fairly good and not raw. We also ordered cocktails and the first round was delicious. My lemon drop was superb. My friend tasted it and on the second order she ordered the same. She took a sip and the expression on her face said it all… I tasted mine and decided to take them up to the bar and have the bartender taste it with a straw. He looked at me and agreed something had been left out. They were sour, bitter and not drinkable. I asked if he could put them back in the shaker and add the other ingredients. He did and they turned out delicious. I realize that New Year’s is a hard night to have every thing go right but they should have been better prepared and someone checking quality of the plates before they left the kitchen.
