We are a New York steakhouse with a twist. Our Executive Chef is the only one in Southern Connecticut to use the old world technique of skillet cooking; producing the most perfectly cooked steak. Besides our steak entrees, we also offer the freshest seafood, lamb and duck entrees, as well as daily specials prepared to perfection by our master chefs. All of our beef is perfectly aged and hand cut on the premises. We use only the finest ingredients, the freshest seafood and Prime Angus beef; each presented with simple elegance. Food was tremendous. Clam chowder was out of this world, had really great time. Our server "The joker" was awesome. Can't compliment the steaks enough. It was our third visit.

Worth the trip to New Haven. Extremely attentive staff all around, prompt service while not rushed and the food was excellent. The appetizers are large and shareable - the special Braciole was excellent but the Cast Iron Baked Brie won the prize for appetizer of the evening. The dinners, all served in individual cast iron pans, stayed hot throughout the entirety of the meal. Our waiter, Brett, took the time to ask questions to ensure we each were getting exactly what we were looking for. NY Strip medium rare, Rigatoni in Vodka Sauce, Chicken Parm - crispy with the sauce on the side, and Salmon cooked medium. Large portions and again - very shareable. The dessert menu is the crowning jewel on this dining experience. There were so many to choose from but the Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee and warm Cast Iron Brownie were the favorites. As a (small) bonus, parking is conveniently located only a short distance away.

Luigi was fantastic. We have been to Cast Iron Chef before. Had this been my first time, I wouldn’t go back. My husband’s steak was cooked perfectly, mine which was ordered the same way (medium) was well done. I couldn’t eat it. The broccoli was way undercooked and the peanut butter pie was good but the nice cream was crystallized and you could tasted ice pieces, like it had been refrozen. The lobster arinchini was the highlight. Again, this is one of our favorite spots, I’m hoping that it was just an off night for the chef and not a sign of decline.

We started w/the shrimp cocktail and they were succulent, crunchy and sweet. They are large and we had to cut them up to eat them. We then split the arugula salad and it was delicious, loaded w/slivered almonds, craisins & goat cheese. It was perfectly dressed. I had the petite filet & my husband got the NY Strip special (Piedmontese beef) and it was also delicious. We had the sweet potatoes as well and they were perfect. We wrapped a good portion, but saved room for the cinnamon bread pudding, which was also delicious. Raul was our waiter, we met him years ago here and we request him every time we dine there. He is attentive, knowledgeable and a genuinely kind man. We love this restaurant, it has never disappointed us!
