Cat & Owl is very special to my wife and I. We travel 1 1/2 hours for our special occasions. Last not was not the norm. Food was not as good and atmosphere was “rushed”. It appeared that staffing was the problem. Service staff were very pleasant as always, just not enough. This was the day after Valentine’s Day, so, understandably. Value has never been an issue until this visit. To anyone reading, We Love this quaint restaurant and will definitely return, hoping for the usual great service and food.

In a word it was terrible. They were obviously understaffed. It took more than an hour for our entrees to be presented and the order was wrong. This was on top of waiting 45 minutes for our appetizer. The food was lukewarm. Only the shrimp which replaced the incorrect scallops were hot and tasty. If this isn't my worst dining experience in 50+ years of eating out, it certainly ranks in the top 5.

Nice local place. Food was ok not stellar. They need a bartender who is experienced.

We enjoyed the seafood and the portions were very good sized. We enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere being quiet and able to have lovely conversation. The waitress was very good with refills and making sure we had everything we wanted.

Our server Catherine was outstanding! The food was delicious and arrived at our table at just the right time after finishing the previous course. We were made to feel as "special " guests yet this was our first visit . Look forward to our next visit to Cat & Owl.

Best crab cake ever. I eat crab cakes at a lot of restaurants. Hands down the best.

Hard do give this place a fair review at this time. We were there during a bad time for them as the area had just experienced a series of massive rainstorms that day. I think there were only 2 staff members there and one was extremely concerned about getting home. No more guests were seated after us.

Had a table for 9. Only one other couple in restaurant should have been a warning. We were there for a half hour before our drink order was taken. Another 15 before our appetizer orders were taken. One of our party ordered oyster Rockefeller and the oysters had gone bad! We finally put our food order in after an hour and a half. Mixed results on the food. But overall, not good. I am specialist because I recommended the place without reading reviews. Never again!
