   It was our first time. It did not disappoint. Crispy shrimp, pork tenderloin and tuna were all excellent. Molten lava cake divine! Nicole our server was friendly and efficient. Sad that we have to wait til spring to return

   BYOB. Our 4th time and just as good as our 3 other times. Portions are big and so delicious. We are fans of Kara Restaurant Group, George’s, Shamones, Brine and others. Never disappoints.

   In June we ate at CAVU and the food was excellent. This time, in August the food was very disappointing. Too much tasteless and slimy mashed potatoes with both the appetizer and main course. Salmon did not taste fresh. Rice balls did not have much truffle and were tasteless.

   Both my wife and I got the chicken parm over vermicelli. Chicken was way too salty, almost no cheese and very little sauce on the vermicelli. Also too many cloves of garlic in the sauce…overpowering. CAVU menu very limited. We would not go again.

   We had a wonderful experience. The chef was extremely attentive, the service was great, and the food was outstanding! The appetizer portions were quite large - enough to share - so we know for next time. BYOB is a plus too.

   The venue is nice it is in a hotel though. The food was meh - tuna not fresh and pork was eating from the supermarket nothing special.

   Our second time here and it was better than the first time (and it was great the first time). Staff is knowledgeable and attentive. Starter was the watermelon, feta and tomato. It was refreshing and watermelon was sweet. They use good feta cheese. Entree was 2 crab cakes, and they were not small. I believe this is best of the Kara Group.

   We went for dinner last night looking forward to trying a new place. Ordered the mushroom arancini, which came on a thin bed of mashed potatoes. They were tasty and a perfect sized appetizer for two to share. Then we ordered the crabcakes and the mahi-mahi. The crabcakes came on a thin layer of the same mashed potatoes, along with something that was supposed to be a zucchini, but I mistook for an eggplant. It was cooked to an indistinguishable mush. The mahi-mahi also came on a thin layer of the same mashed potatoes along with the same overcooked piece of zucchini. The crabcakes were not good. They were full of filler and cheap, fine crab meat. Not a lump in sight. The mahi-mahi was over cooked and fairly tasteless. We did convey our concerns to the waiter who is very nice, but he said he’d convey our thoughts to the chef the next day because even though this was a Friday night, the chef was apparently not on duty. There did not seem to be a lot of cooking going on in this restaurant. My impression was that all of the proteins were cooked in advance, and were kept in a sous vide holding tank until they were needed. The sides that were served with these proteins were mediocre or worse. I’ve had had better meals at catered weddings. The restaurant was half empty. I see no reason to go here again.

    Very nice experience at Cavu. The atmosphere was so nice. We ate outside by the pool. Our server was great! He was efficient and friendly. The food was delicious. We started with the tuna appetizer which was fresh and flavorful. My husband had salmon and I had mahi mahi. Both were prepared very well with a delicious but not overbearing sauce. Overall we had a very pleasant dinner!
