We had a truly delightful birthday dinner at Cedar+ Elm. The Lodge is lovely and the dining room was comfortable and very nicely repurposed from its original use by the seminary. The menu had many unusual and interesting offerings and everything we had was delicious. The service was outstanding. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about all of the things on the menu, a number of which we were unfamiliar with. She made it easy to decide with her detailed descriptions. We will go back and next time we'd like to spend the night at the Lodge and explore the park in the daylight. It was very dark in mid-December when we went so we couldn't see much of the park but it's worth a return trip.

Excellent brunch items and atmosphere. Our server was terrific and respectful. Love the grounds…can walk around after eating and enjoy the outdoor space or walk through the old seminary.

This is a review of the Afternoon Tea at The Lodge. I’ve had many Afternoon Teas over the years at several places. The tea at The Lodge was the worst. The sandwiches were small, not remarkable, presentation was poor and the sandwiches were difficult to hold and not have them fall apart. There was no fruit. I’ve never had an Afternoon Tea that didn’t have fruit. Fruit helps cleanse the palate. There was not enough savory items. But worst of all was the tea presentation. One tea pot of hot water. Not boiling and with no tea cozy. Loose tea was presented in the tea strainers. Each person had to steep their tea in their cup with the strainer. OMG! There should have been a tea pot of boiling water for each person with a tea cozy to keep it hot. The loose tea put in the pot and allowed to steep. Then strain the tea in the strainer as you pour a nice steeped tea in your cup. And then when that cup is finished you can have some more wonderful hot tea from your pot that has been under a tea cozy. Their afternoon tea leaves a lot to be desired and is way over priced for what you get. So very disappointing. I won’t be back.

Cedar and Elm was a total disappointment except for the Christmas decorations. A 20% tip was included beforehand and there was literally no table side service. The tiered tray was on the table when you arrived and they removed plates as soon as the last item was taken from a plate making you feel rushed out the door. There was no clotted cream or lemon curd for the scones or crumpets. The Christmas gingerbread cookies were completely bare and were not even decorated. Very sparse and tea was the only food item that was warm. Not at all worth $100 per person. Head to The Fairmont instead.

We had a wonderful experience. Our service was excellent - thank you, Jillian! The food was delicious, especially the pork belly! The ambience could have been even better with more cozy lighting. We will be back.

Went for Afternoon Tea and it was lovely. Great food variety, you get to pick the tea(s) you want and it wasn’t too stuffy but was still elegant. The hotel is gorgeous with plenty of different art and it was nice to go early and wander around.

Staff were attentive and helpful. Large room while grand seems a bit stark and cold, in ambiance not temperature. Food tasty and well prepared and it’s a plus for me to have hot food served on heated plates as I do at home. Stayed hot throughout meal!
