   There had been a mistake made regarding our booking for a table of 4, on a busy night at the restaurant. This resulted in a delay of about an hour until we were able to sit down to eat. However, the staff were very apologetic and treated us to free nibbles and fizz. The food was very good - particularly the starters - the ceviche was outstanding. A lively, buzzy, slightly chaotic spot - but with very good food and a good wine selection.

   This was my sixth visit. The food keeps getting better and better - innovative and absolutely delicious. Complementing the food is the amazing staff - so friendly, knowledgeable and diligent. We could not have had a better experience - until perhaps the next time we visit!

   Ruined our entire evening. I booked this restaurant for my partners birthday as it had good reviews and we love oysters and seafood. The tapas is not tapas and the descriptions of the food was simply just naming ingredients. We asked our waitress to advise on how much we should order and she did not at any point stop us from ordering more, knowing full well how big the 'tapas' would be (as we later found out). A lot of the things we ordered sounded like dips so we asked if they came with bread. She said we will be given bread. Our mains arrived first and we asked if this was a mistake. An apology was given but we weren't too fussed about the order in which the food came out. Then after the waitress cleared our mains plates she asked if we wanted dessert? She apologised again after we said we were expecting a lot more food. The food came, every dish with bread, which we had asked her to clarify. All the food was under seasoned and just bang average. We basically ate bread all night and then the bill came for £200. Nothing subtracted in the bill to reflect the constant apologising for messing up time and time again. They were clearly disappointed with their own service but still had the nerve to charge us a ridiculous amount of money. Most good restaurants say happy birthday when you put it in the booking notes and at least try to make it somewhat special. It's just good manners. Just feel completely ripped off and genuinely ruined what could have been a good night. Cheers for that.

   Save for a treat. Delicious fresh oysters. And cerviche . Mains are tasty but overpriced and need an accompaniment or side. Wines expensive too. Too pricey for a neighbourhood restaurant. Humble location but pleasant ambience inside.

   Lunched here on the back of the stunning Sunday Times review. Only 3 tables in for lunch ( 7 other customers plus us 3) but oh my, what slow service! We ordered 3 cold starters ( so no cooking involved) and said we’d also like the calamari and then perhaps we’d order more. In the end we waited 40 minutes for the calamari even though we chased it up a couple of times. On complaining to the waiter who delivered the dish we were told with distain we needed to speak to the chef. Chef is the owner and he was gracious enough to knock the calamari off our bill, but couldn’t really comprehend why we were dissatisfied with such a long wait. Also had to wait an age for the wine from their “unruly” wine list which verges on expensive in my view as most bottles over We retired to Frederick’s nearby to fill up on cheese and cracker served by charming staff. Not difficult to know which venue we preferred.

   Read about this restaurant in the Sunday Times. Absolutely my favourite type of restaurant. Local buzzy, great food, lovely staff and we can’t wait to go back.
