Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Charlie Palmer Steak Napa, located in the Archer Hotel, boasts an "elegant and inviting ambiance" with modern aesthetics and warm lighting. While some dishes like the "iceberg salad, tuna tartare, and Parker House-like rolls" shine, the standout feature is the "Monday Napa Neighbor Menu," which offers a creative take on Filipino cuisine. Service is "attentive and caring," making it a pleasant spot for drinks or appetizers, though some guests find the steakhouse experience inconsistent. For a true meat-focused dining, consider other options in Napa.

Service was outstanding, expected a better ribeye from a high quality steakhouse. Would unfortunately not return.

My wife and I recently celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary, and our experience was exceptional. The food was outstanding, with the steaks cooked to perfection. Our server, Jose Perez, was truly one of the most professional and knowledgeable we’ve encountered. He provided insightful details about the menu and the various cuts of steak, offering excellent recommendations that made our meal even more enjoyable. His expertise and attentiveness made for a truly memorable dining experience. We highly recommend requesting Jose as your server if you want an outstanding evening. Overall, it was the perfect place to celebrate, and we will certainly be returning!

The Monday Napa Neighbor Menu is a local gem! The Sous Chef artfully crafts fresh dishes based on local, seasonal ingredients that are masterfully paired with the perfect wine (optional). Service is great, and the meal is wonderful from start to finish. Our go-to Napa spot!

I do not recommend this restaurant for anyone. Even if you are craving a steakhouse experience this is not the place. The restaurant is effectively in the lobby of the hotel. Steaks are very overpriced ($90 for a NT strip) and the sides were nothing to write home about. Sauces were not good either. Great service though!

Overpriced and underwhelming. Disjointed. The restaurant just misses the mark. The $60 ribeye is thin and unremarkable. The $15 salad is paltry and ordinary. The space feels like a hotel lobby diner with zero personality but plenty of noise from the open air lobby bar immediately adjacent. It is just a “stop-by-for-quick-bite” kind of experience. Not worthy of a night out for dinner.

We went for Restaurant Week special, party of six. Surprised how quiet it was, maybe 6 tables occupied. Service was attentive, almost hovering, but pleasant. We had the scallops, which were quite meager- maybe 6 small bay scallops, accompanied by tiny sliced carrots and some 'foam" for $36. Steak was delish (the special) and also the chicken breast. Corkage fee was $35/ bottle. Additional service fee for party of 6 or more was 24% (although the menu stated 20%) ??? Ambiance was comparable to a hotel restaurant.

Charlie Palmer Steakhouse in Napa offers an elegant and inviting ambiance with its beautifully designed decor, showcasing a sophisticated yet approachable vibe. The modern aesthetic and warm lighting make it an ideal spot for a special occasion or an upscale night out. Unfortunately, the food does not quite meet the standards set by other Palmer establishments like Dry Creek Kitchen in Healdsburg (which I love and will continue to eat at). Highlights The iceberg salad, tuna tartare, mushroom soup, and Parker House-like rolls stood out. The salad was crisp and well-dressed, the tuna tartare fresh and flavorful, and the rolls delightfully buttery and fluffy. These dishes set the right steakhouse expectations that the rest of the meal struggled to meet. Misses The main courses were underwhelming. The flounder was overcooked, losing its delicate texture, and the ribeye was mediocre — lacking the rich, robust flavor one expects from a high-end steakhouse. Sides like the Brussels sprouts and mac-and-cheese were disappointingly bland, detracting from the overall dining experience. Service The service was friendly and warm, with staff who genuinely cared about ensuring a pleasant evening. However, the service was spotty, with noticeable missteps and miscommunication amongst staff (training?). Final Thoughts For a meat-focused dining experience, Cole's Chop House and TORC in Napa offer better meat options with more consistent execution. While Charlie Palmer Steakhouse shines in its atmosphere and a few select dishes, it falls short of delivering the exceptional culinary experience expected from the Charlie Palmer brand. It’s a good spot for a drink or an appetizer, but there are better choices in the area for a complete meal.
