   Service started out great & attentive until we placed our order for food, which was a 4:30pm reservation on Sunday, a perfect time not a busy time. While seating I get a Chart House phone-call to confirm my reservation at 5:34pm when I have been seated for an hour already. My salad comes & is good however I had to wait for the waiter to ask for pepper & I was almost done with it when he finally came back with a mini salt & mini pepper shaker which barely had 2 shakes to give. I asked is there a reason why not have it on the table to save you the trip & he stated in was a management decision. Then came my Filet Mignon & was fantastic.. I asked may I please have some A1 sauce? I mean really, for such an incredible restaurant & view why not offer salt & pepper or steak sauce to your patrons is ridiculous. The service was terrible after my friend & I got our food. Eventually the restaurant got busy & we were ignored, & the waiter had several tables. We would have ordered coffee & desert however he never came back, finally when I got his attention I asked for the bill. I only got the restaurant copy & still left a good cash tip regardless of the poor service. The kicker is when he came to get the receipt, he said where’s my tip??? My friend & I looked at each other with oh my GOSH BIG EYES… I said I left a 20% cash tip right here on the table & also on the receipt where the tip line is I wrote in Cash Tip & circled it. It’s unfortunate because it was 1️⃣ of my favorite go to places & this was the worst experience I ever had there. Also, the DP Boat Parade was to be going on @ 6:30pm & it still wasn’t happening close to 7pm. Only a few boats out at that time, so we asked about it to a few on staff & they didn’t know a boat parade was even going on so I showed them a snapshot of the flyer on my phone.. & 1️⃣ Valet guy said well maybe the Sailors took the night off‼️🙃😂 ended up going down to the Harbor & saw some beautifully decorated boats & Xmas Lights!! 💚❤️

   Visited on Saturday to check the Christmas Boat Show. Had great service both in the bar and at my outdoor table. Great steak and wine. This will become an annual Holiday tradition.

   We have been to Chart House (Dana Point location) several times and always enjoyed it. That said, this was THE WORST dining experience we've EVER had from BEGINNING to END! THE BEGINNING We had early 5:30 pm reservations with a booth seating request. On arrival we were told it would be just a few minutes before we could be seated. After a 20 minute wait, we were taken to a small 2 person table with a 3rd chair added that was basically in the middle of the entrance to the bar area. After refusing that table we waited for another 10 minutes to be seated in a booth. THE END Our server, who will mercifully go un-named, started off well but went steadily downhill from there, beginning with forgotten drink orders and culminating with an unforgivable insult to my wife that led to her basically following us out of the restaurant apologizing profusely. To be clear - APOLOGY NOT ACCEPTED!

   My husband and I went on a dinner date. The service, food, ambience, and view were excellent. Kevin was our server and he provided excellent and professional service!

   We had our holiday party there and they were able to accommodate our team if 13. We had our table set up on time and they were able to get special menu for us. The food was good and service was even better. They were all very nice and allowed us to play our white elephant game after dinner as well. The view was amazing ! Will definitely be back for date night.
