   Not a good experience. Charthouse which is usually excellent oversold for Thanksgiving and the service and food suffered greatly. We had gone there two Thanksgiving's ago and it had been very good. They sorely need to limit the number of reservations and serving dinner outside in November is a very bad idea.

   We have been going to the Chart House for Thanksgiving Dinner over the past 3 years. They always do a terrific dinner for us.

   Parking on a holiday is horrible if you want valet; and IF you need assistance walking, you will need to walk through the garage, otherwise gamble and take the long winding stairs to the check-in booth. MOST parking is on the street. It has been like this for decades; also they need to make valet parking a reservation too.

   It was the worst dining experience I've ever had at a restaurant. The service was the worst. It took 40 minutes from being seated to having even water placed on the table, and it went downhill from there. I asked twice over an hour (after the water finally arrived) for the bread, and the server said, "That may take a while." And it took over an hour in total. The soup came and was warm but nowhere near hot. The turkey dinner came (after an hour and 40 min) and it also was warm, but not hot. There was only a tablespoon of potatoes, and gravy was only a tiny, thin line of drizzle over the potatoes and turkey. The cornbread stuffing was burned hard and black on the bottom. Everything took so long we didn't dare ask to send anything back. They never bothered to remove the dirty dishes. The server never introduced himself. His first words were, "here're your menus." He was gone in between each brief visit for so long my husband couldn't even get a refill on water or his iced tea. He tried to make his last sips of water last like we were lost at sea or in the desert. The "view" from the window included a folded up table, a dolly, propane tanks dumped on the side and other debris. It was a view of a dumping ground. If we can't see the water, I understand, but they could at least clean up or even decorate the area we do see. It seems no one cares about what we see from those tables. We paid $70 for each meal. My husband said. "We'd have been better off at Denny'sl" I understand they were very busy for Thanksgiving, but it doesn't help at all. We indulged in a high end restaurant for a special occasion and it was ruined with a completely unacceptable experience.

   This location serves the BEST dining experience and their Thanksgiving dinner was amazing. From the front desk, to excellent bartenders and an attentive server plus their helpful valets, it was VERY memorable occasion.

   The Charthouse is usually one of our favorite places to dine for special occasions. Unfortunately they overbooked on Thanksgiving and told us when we arrived on time for a reservation that we are going to have to dine outside. Or wait 45 minutes to an hour to get a table inside . They had patio heaters out there, but it was windy and it was very cold and after about 30 minutes, we decided it was just too cold to sit out there and have dinner This is totally unacceptable. We went back in and asked for a table inside and said we would wait. They told us to wait at the bar. They served us a salad and soup at the bar and then finally got us a table. Dinner was cold when it arrived. It was a very unenjoyable Thanksgiving. ☹️

    The Thanksgiving menu had a great variety as well as some a la carte items. We had a party of 8 and everyone was pleased with the options. The view in Dana Point is always beautiful and our table had a great view. The place was SO packed. You could barely thread yourself between the tables. And the noise level was really high. Food did take a while, but it came out hot. Our waitress was the best - great attitude and super sweet. Valet parking only - and they had their hands full. If they hadn't packed in so many tables, it would have been perfect.
