   Great view from this restaurant. Probably the best there is of Manhattan skyline. That’s what brings people back year after year. Food quality is ok. Not bad at all but high priced for what it is. Spent $360 total on a dinner for 4. That’s with 2 drinks at $16 each. 2 salads, 4 entrees, 2 desserts. No appetizers. Tap water otherwise etc. Went to Wolfgang’s Steak house last week and paid about the same for the same group of 4 people and similar order with 2 drinks total etc. I would consider Wolfgang’s higher level yet still pricy so Chart House I feel definitely needs to watch prices and how much further they rise.

   There are 2 reasons for omitting the 5th star. First, there was a large table next to us at which the diners continually took pictures using a large LED spotlight attached to one of their iPhones. This was incredibly inconsiderate of nearby diners as the light was almost blinding and shined in all directions, including regularly at our nearby table. We think that someone in service staff should have asked those diners to tone it down. Second, although service was professional and relatively attentive, 5 of our 6 meals were brought together and it was a good 10 minutes or more that we all waited for the final meal to be served so that we could begin eating. It took an addition 10 minutes after that for the one side dish we ordered to be served. Finally, at least one of our party very much wanted to try the house special Chocolate Lava Cake shown on the main menu. It was not on the dessert menu and when we asked about it, we were told that it was special order and takes about 30 minutes to prepare. It would have been nice to have been told this when we placed our dinner orders so that anyone who wanted that dessert could have put in the order in advance.

   Enjoyed Christmas dinner at the Chart House. Our server James was outstanding. Food was good. And of course, the view is always spectacular.

   I come every year for Christmas. I had a 7pm reservation and by 7:25pm it still was not ready so I ate at the bar. The food too a very long time to come out, people seated after me got their food first and my fish was cold and my son steak was well done even though he ordered medium well. The only saving grace is the waiters and bartenders they are amazing and did the best they could do. But was not the ideal Christmas dinner.
