Chartier is a rustic, French-Canadian restaurant located in the heart of Beaumont, AB. The menu, created by Head Chef Tamara Solon, is an elevated take on rustic French-Canadian favourites; made with love, care, and extraordinary amounts of butter. Our food is for everyone. Not frilly and pretentious, just wholesome local ingredients that taste amazing and fill your belly.

Chartier was named the Best New Restaurant by Avenue Magazine in 2016, one of the top 10 Best New Restaurants in Alberta by the Globe and Mail, and made the long list for the Best New Restaurants in Canada by enRoute Magazine. Most recently, it was featured on Food Network Canada’s Big Food Bucket List starring John Catucci.

    Take a paddle through the Alberta producers we support without ever leaving your table. We're excited to welcome back the Canoe Trip - a once-a-month six course tasting menu designed for those who like to try "a little bit of everything" when they go out for a special meal. The cost is $90/person + GST and gratuity, with drink pairings available for an additional $40 (non-alcoholic drink pairings are also available) All you have to do is sit back, relax, & enjoy your evening as we guide you through "the best of Chartier". Please email tamara@dinechartier.com to discuss allergy/dietary restrictions prior to booking. The canoe trip is offered on the first Thursday of every month only.

    Bringing you a little bit closer to where your food comes from is our #1 goal at Chartier. One of the ways we do this is with our monthly producer dinners, where we showcase one of our local partners in a carefully curated 5 course menu that focuses in on their incredible products. We invite them in for the evening to storytell, educate, and connect with diners - offering a unique opportunity to meet the beauties behind the bounty. On Friday, January 10th we’re excited to welcome Nicola and Alan Irving - proud owners of Irvings Farm Fresh in Roundhill, AB. Their Berkshire pork is unparalleled, and Chef Tamara will be using it in all five courses offered throughout the evening. Tickets are $75/person, we hope to see you there!

    An excellent little place with tons of ambiance. I gave a lower score for value but not because of the restaurant, it's more an indictment of the rising costs of everything. I'd go back there in a heartbeat!!!

    This restaurant has, for us, always been great. Natasha, our server, was great, and the other staff were very attentive. The only drawback to our evening was a table of 6 next to us that we're talking over everyone else. It did not dampen our get together with friends or the restaurant experience.

    This was my second time at this restaurant and, again, received phenomenal service and phenomenal food. The staff are knowledgeable and ready with fantastic suggestions. Will definitely be a repeat customer.

    Had a great breakfast experience this morning. We arrived a few minutes early but were still seated almost immediately. Ordered the breakfast poutine & eggs donovan, both meals came out extremely fast and cooked to perfection. Poutine was too filling for my wife and she packed it up to take home, the eggs donovan was well portioned and a nice change on the standard eggs benny. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a delicious meal and will definitely be going back again.

    Winter salad and butternut squash soup is great! request a booth if you don't like too much noise. The baked good are always delish!

    The most amazing cute little restaurant. The food is all prepared organically and every single person will walk out with something from the bakery. It’s out of this world. You actually feel like you’re somewhere else in this little small town. It reminds me of whitefish Montana. It’s so nice to see the staff so personable and friendly highly highly recommended
