Chequer Lane started with a simple goal: to celebrate the best ingredients in Ireland through delicious hearty dishes.

It’s no secret that Jamie is all about championing incredible local produce and for Chequer Lane, Jamie's Irish team have chosen the cream of the crop. At the head of our team is Gerry Fitzpatrick – part of the famous Fitzpatrick restaurant and greengrocer family, who have spent more than 75 years building a network of Irish producers and suppliers.

We treat our beautiful produce with the respect it deserves and we’re all about food that’s close to your heart, puts a smile on your face and makes you feel happy.

Set in the heart of Dublin on a street that was once called Chequer Lane, our restaurant offers a warm atmosphere, where everyone is welcome.

From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, setting the stage for an unforgettable culinary experience. We indulged in the Irish fillet steak, cooked to perfection—medium and well done—each bite melting in our mouths with just the right balance of flavors. The accompanying mashed potatoes were creamy and smooth, the perfect complement to the savory steak. The meal was elevated further by the Tempranillo red wine, a superb choice that paired excellently with the dishes, enhancing every flavor profile with its rich and robust notes. Every aspect of our dining experience was impeccable, and the attentive service added to the overall pleasure.                                                               Das Essen war hervorragend, leider war Alles ein bisschen unorganisiert (30 Min Wartezeit auf den Tisch, warten auf Speisekarten). Der Service war allerdings sehr nett und hat sich entschuldigt fürs Chaos.

                                                              Our second time dining in Chequer Lane for a special occasion and could not recommend the restaurant, food and service more highly. The restaurant was extremely busy on the night but at no point did the service or food falter. The food was superb. We had scallops and crab to start which were excellent and fillet beef and crab linguine for mains and the crumble for desert. All the food was excellent. The only thing better than the food was the service. Diogo was incredible. Very friendly and so on the ball. All suggestions were spot on and his knowledge of the wine list was excellent. Both occasions we have been blown away by the service in Chequer Lane and Diogo on Saturday evening only exemplified this. We are already booked in again as a result. A great dining experience.

                                                              It was a nice surprise with being better than anticipated. I was not sure if I should take the scallops or not as the main dish, but after deciding to do it I was in for a treat - they were fresh and perfectly cooked. The same goes for fish-and-chips dish that my wife ordered - best yet. The salads were also fresh, tasty and to the point. Great dinner out in Dublin for our last evening here.
