   Had the french onion soup and ribeye steak. Enjoyed them both. Staff were good and attentive, good weather made outside dining enjoyable. If I was to be picky, menu didnt cater for kids.

   We had the onion soup and foie gras to start, can't fault it at all. For mains we had ray wings (new on the menu in the last couple weeks, hopefully staying on) and beef bourguignon (always delish). Topped off with apple tart tatin and and creme brulee, all washed down with a steady Malbec. Very tasty night indeed. The staff and service are outstanding.

   We had a birthday dinner for my partner here last night. The food was delicious as always. The moules and crème brûlée were particularly good . We arrived a little early for our booking and we were offered a table by the door. As it was cold the manager turned on the gas heater to ensure we were comfortable. As soon as a table came free further into the restaurant he offered to move us. Great food and great service chez max. Big thanks to our lovely waiter from Nice who is in Ireland studying English. He did a great job!!! Will be back for sure

   It's become a tradition now to attend Chez Max each year to celebrate my wife's birthday. Super spot. Lovely food. Attentive staff and lovely atmosphere. We highly recommend it.

   Very atmospheric restaurant you really get the French Bistro vibe. Foie Gras starter was delicious but a bit on the small side for the €18.90 price tag. My main, Entrecôte was a perfectly cooked medium rare I would have preferred the more traditional Bearnaise Sauce to the pepper sauce it was served with. The Frites were perfect thin, crispy and there was plenty of them. I felt that €40 for a steak on a lunch menu was a bit pricey. I finished with the Café Gourmand which comprised of a selection of minis, Crème Brûlée, Chocolate Rum Truffle, Lemon Meringue Tart, a Macaron and a cup of good coffee, the perfect end to a good meal. All in all very enjoyable albeit a bit on the expensive side. Service was very good, staff were friendly and accommodating

   One of the main reasons for eating here was to sample the advertised Escargot , whe the dish arrived it was nothing anywhere near as described Escargots de Bourgogne Baked Snails in the Shell, Garlic and Parsley Butter No shells and most certainly not Bourgogne as agreed by the owner !!..They did not charge me for the dish but my reason for going there in the first place was not met !! Very good waiter from Nice and other dishes were just ok !
