Was pretty disappointed in this, our first time at this Chihuahua's, and our last. I love Mexican food, grew up in SoCal, and my wife and I are constantly looking for great places to eat. We've been to the original Chihuahua's in Winnemucca for breakfasts and the food, service, etc was all outstanding so we were excited about going to the local one for dinner. Our issues started at being seated. We had a reservation and waited. After noticing that a couple that walked in several minutes after we arrived and had no reservation, was put on the wait list and then seated before us, I went to the desk and pointed that out, they then immediately sat us, and they sat us in a walkway when there were tables open in the area that weren't in the walkway. We hoped the food would set the night straight. We ordered our dinners, my wife always gets a chile relleno and cheese enchilada dinner, she wasn't impressed, said they were both bland. She only ate a couple bites of the enchilada before giving up on it and ate maybe half of the relleno. I got a burrito. I also found the burrito to not have much flavor. The menu said the burrito had carne asada, but it was really just ground hamburger and I couldn't taste any flavoring in the meat, other than tasting like hamburger. Carne Asada is suppose to be marinated and is usually grilled to add flavor, then is served cubed, or in cut strips, not ground. The only real pluses in this night were the waiter was really nice and did a great job. And, the margaritas were pretty good. Fortunately, we have other options for good MX food in the area.

It was our first time here. It was recommended on a UNR parent site. Service was terrific. Our food came very quickly and it was delicious. Our server was very helpful and attentive. We felt it was very reasonably priced and the portions were large. We will go here again for sure.

We love the food, the vibe, and the service. It's casual and friendly. We love sitting in the bar area, lots of TVs and friendly people. They have a great bar menu, the margaritas are delicious. You won't leave there hungry or lonely.

Friendly staff and great Mexican food! We started with chips and pico and then we both had their chicken burrito. It was delicious with just the right amount of sauce and good melding of flavors. The staff was super accommodating on our request to sit outside on a cold night, and the service was fast, even though they were busy, and we were the only ones out there. The only thing I would not recommend is there Mexican mojito. It had fresh mint but just didn’t have enough lime. We will eat here again!

Why use open table to make a reservation when they ignore it? Food was ok. Not likely to return.
