This exclusive collaboration features Chef Devan Cunningham of CC’s on Central, known for his soulful Southern cuisine and appearance on Food Network’s "Ciao House", and Chilte's own Chef Lawrence "LT" Smith, a Food & Wine Best New Chef and James Beard semifinalist, acclaimed for his innovative approach to Mexican cuisine. Together, they’ll present a menu that reimagines the contributions of Black chefs, blending history with contemporary technique for an unforgettable one-night experience.

    This was easily the best meal we’ve had in Phoenix. Every dish was flavorful and perfectly executed. The James Beard nomination is much deserved!

    Wow! We went for the fixed menu Valentines experience and we were treated to a beautiful, innovative, delicious meal. The dining was three courses with choice of two dishes per course. My wife and I decided to get all 6 dishes and share. We also opted for the wine pairing with Mexican wine. It was immediately obvious why the chef is a James Beard semi finalist. The first course included a shrimp roll with succulent poached shrimp and complimentary spices that made the rival any lobster roll (this from someone born in Maine). The other starter was a scallop ceviche. The scallops were sliced so thinly they were almost transparent. The Mexican ceviche was carefully crafted so that the chilies did not overpower the delicate scallops. The second course included a fried snapper with a white mole and a dish of head on shrimp over a creamy polenta. Our desert included a cheesecake topped with a guava jelly with shrimp dust. This gave the desert a wonderful savory flavor. The other was a chocolate cake paired with a goat milk caramel. One of the best cakes either of us have had. The wine pairing was fantastic. The wine selected from small private vineyards rivaled many of the California and Oregon wines we have enjoyed over the years. What a delightful surprise! This review would not be complete without mentioning the impeccable service from Marlie who guided us through the entire experience. The restaurant decor was not at the level you would expect from a restaurant with this level of cooking, but it is worth coming for the entire experience

    The Valentine three-course dinner was wonderful. All six selections were delicious, generous, and beautifully presented. I especially loved the scallop citrus ceviche. We were glad we ordered the wine pairing. I had never had Mexican wine before. We learned a lot about it from our very knowledge server. The space is really cool and so is the music. It is right next to the iconic Egyptian Motor Hotel ——-double cool.

    great food! Service was a little slow/ we would have had another cocktail if that had been quicker server. Major complaint is the noise level. Hard to hear the person across from you but yet you hear all of the conversations around you because everyone is shouting. Also, no parking or $15 parking which is kind of a bummer.

    SO FIRE. Got the vegan tacos and they were the best tacos I've eaten in my whole life. Ambiance and service were 10/10 too.

    Unsure of portion sizes, we definitely over ordered. The Mids a meal size dishes and the entrees, Grandes, are meal plus lunch tomorrow size. Excellent food and a delightful space. Near impossible to have a conversation across the table due to the noise level but why talk when you can eat?

    The food is incredible - and the hostess is super helpful with explaining the options and providing help. A very cool, fun location with a 50’s vibe but just go for the food.

    Unusual Mexican inspired food in an intimate interesting space. We ordered a number of items on the menu recommended by our terrific server and shared them all. Each dish was different in presentation and taste and we were pleasantly surprised how fair the bill was. Go!

    They should turn down the music or no music - the room is small and it’s hard to talk. Other than that -love love love it. Food was amazing!!

    It was our first time here and we really enjoyed it! It was a fun place and the food was excellent! We sat at the counter and had very attentive service. We will definitely be back!
