Located in the heart of beautiful downtown Staunton VA, The Chop House Tavern elegantly showcases a refined take on Chef Ryan Zale's culinary creativity. Professionally executed by Sous Chef Brendan Almy, guests can expect the signature proteins and menu staples found on our sibling restaurants menus, (Local Chop and Grill House, Harrisonburg VA, and The Chop House Bistro, Luray VA) as well as delicious takes on comfort tavern food classics. We had an unbelievable meal! The service was fantastic and the ambiance was wonderful. Will definitely be returning! Thank you for a special evening.

Chop House provides a remarkable dining experience. Their menu is innovative and offers familiar favorites like filet mignon with an esoteric flair. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable, and clearly take pride in the level of service they and their restaurant offer. Without doubt, this is the best restaurant we've visited in months.

1st time here. We had a wonderful experience for our wedding anniversary. Our waiter Avery was top notch! Pleasant, polite, knowledgeable and engaging. He really made our visit memorable !

This Was A Beautiful Fine Dining experience in Staunton! Great service and atmosphere. food was delicious and cooked perfectly and the bartender makes amazing craft cocktails you won’t find anywhere else. wine & cocktail list is expertly crafted. Decor of the building is amazing too. The staff here obviously take a lot of pride and care in their work the restaurant was so clean and welcoming and everyone had expert knowledge of the menu. Love this place I will be going back as much as possible!

Service was outstanding and personal. Wine, steak and duck fat fries, same. Salad of the day had a strange sweet, gummy dressing that should have been on the side. My server was the best!! Oh, and the bread. Carb worthy.

Tonight was our guest’s first experience at Chop House. They ordered filet mignon which was ordered medium rare and delivered very rare and bloody. The elk meatloaf was overcooked. The burger and prawns we ordered were overcooked as well. The salad was great, the soup delicious, and the service superb.

We thoroughly enjoy EVERY dining experience at Staunton Chop House in EVERY aspect… from the excellent food choices, to the team attending guests, to the environment of the dining room. The Chop House in Staunton is a perfect choice when dining out.

Fabulous birthday dinner! Chop House Tavern made it a very special milestone birthday! A favorite go to in Staunton but really makes a special event memorable!

An intimate setting where expectations were exceeded with an interesting menu highlighted by stellar service and excellent food, prepared well. The portions were perfect, the flavors not overbearing and the ambiance was perfect for a delicious meal served at a relaxing pace. Next time, we’ll try something from the dessert menu.
