Chop was created for people who love sharing, connecting and everything steak. We are proud to offer a menu that shares our commitment to sustainable beef sourcing, serving high-quality cuts of 100% Canadian beef. It isn’t just the meat that’s special – it’s also how we cook it. Our Montague broiler cooks at up to 1800 °F, giving a beautiful crust and flavour to every steak! We slow roast our prime rib in a humidity-controlled oven, keeping it mouth-watering and tender. And we put this level of care into each of our hand-crafted drinks, and from-scratch dishes, including plant-based and seafood options, with something for everyone to enjoy. Prime rib meat was great and our server was lovely. We found our food to be luke warm at best. I was not a fan of the pilaf rice (too wet and sticky). The greyhound cocktail was nice - and the smokey Old Fashioned was a fun presentation. I guess we could have sent things back to get heated more thoroughly but that's not how we usually are.... Might give it another chance at some point, not sure.

I took my best friend last night for her birthday, with a prior reservation. We were seated right away and served in a timely manner. Our waitress was lovely, and took lots of time to explain the menu, and recommended dishes (plus some of her faves). The food came hot, and in good time to eat our appetizers and enjoy some drinks. We both had the top sirloin and it was fantastic!! Highly recommend!! My friend ended up getting a dessert on the house with a really cute card signed by the staff. We felt very appreciated! We will definitely be back very soon with our husbands in tow next time!

Food was great but the service wasn’t up to par. Maybe the server was new. She was very friendly but we had to ask her twice to have our water glasses topped up. Other than the initial pouring of the bottle of wine, she never topped up our wine glasses either.

We spent our 20th and 21st wedding anniversary at this incredible restaurant and next year will be no different. The food as well as the service is top notch and you will not be disappointed.

Based on my previous experiences the meat was cooked well. Some items were not on the menu anymore that I use to enjoy. The service was a bit slow but it was fairly busy, so understandable. Overall it was a nice experience. I think for a steakhouse it's nice to have more steak options like some other competition steakhouses in ottawa. I feel like more cuts is ideal. I would have loved a porterhouse. Or maybe a t-bone. But it was a nice meal either way. I'd recommend as a typical chain restraunt similar to the keg.

Food and service were EXCELLENT. Atmosphere was fantastic with moderate lighting and spacious seating. Decor and layout lent to moderate ambient background noise making it easy to hold conversation, even with a full house. Staff were VERY helpful and courteous. On this occasion we had the Filet mignon and Prime rib - both of which were cooked to perfection.
