   We were promptly seated and shortly thereafter had our drink order taken. Two of us ate gluten free and a staff member personally oversaw that no gluten was used in our meal. Food was exceptional although the cawsar salad contained large peppercorns which did not sit well in the salad. The burger also could have been better presented. The halibut and sirloin steak meals were delicious.

   We were are large group celebrating a birthday, meals all came out at the same time. Food was very good at a good price, excellent service.

   We arrived at 7:40pm on Saturday night and was promptly seated. However, we got our waters around 8pm and were asked what we wanted at 8:20pm. The food was average. I chose this place because I heard it was better than the Keg. It was not better unfortunately. I would not recommend tbh unless you happen to be around the area.

   Decided to try CHOP since it was highly rated on the app and we are new to the Ottawa area. We were greeted by lovely hosts and our server was very nice. We enjoyed our starters (French onion soup) however, our main was mediocre at best. We both ordered steak medium and it was medium rare. We still ate it but was not what we had ordered. The peppercorn sauce was not good at all and the rice pilaf tasted like uncle Ben’s rice that you microwave for 2 minutes. The quality was not all there and we were overall disappointed with our meal. The mash potatoes were good and the Brussels sprouts were also delicious but the squash was barely al dente (larger piece was not really cooked all the way). Due to this experience, we won’t be returning. High prices for low quality meal.

   I had the steak Oscar and my steak was not hot. I asked for it cooked medium and it was medium rare at best.

   Everything about our visit was absolutely perfect! The food was cooked to perfection, full of flavor, and beautifully presented.     We haven’t been out for Valentine’s Day dinner in years because of the craziness of it all. Last night, CHOP really did a supurb job!! The atmosphere was great, they had live music in the bar which was very nice to listen to while we enjoyed our evening. Our Server Sarah H was very nice and attentive and didn’t make us feel rushed at all. We really liked that we had the option of the specialty menu or regular menu for our evening.
