   I usually have a great experience at Chop's, in fact it's one of my favorite restaurants. This time they fell short. The spinach salad wasn't done well tableside; everyone was in a hurry. Wine ordered during appetizers never arrived until our main meal basically finished at which point I canceled it. Meal tasted good even though my steak came out rare (ordered medium rare, first time they've messed this up) but made me extremely sick. Overall, this is still a great restaurant, but the service has gone downhill over the years and apparently they are teaching new chefs how to use their equipment.

   We arrived approximately 10 minutes early for our 6 o'clock reservation. We were greeted with warm smiles and escorted to our table. Our excellent serve staff were Imari and Larry. They both greeted us with "Happy 38th Anniversary," and said, "Welcome to Chops." We ordered Calamari as our appetizer, and our entree selections were, the NY strip and Lamb Chops, with Lobster Mac and Cheese, and Mushrooms. Our food was prepared to our desired taste. Imari and Larry continued to check on us, and they were, by far, our absolute best serve staff of 2024. Please pass our thanks to both Imari and Larry for their excellent service.    They were understaffed for Christmas Eve lunch service. Server was great but he was run ragged. The lobster bisque was cold and the 8oz filet was fine, but not up to Chops’ standards.

    We've dined at Buckhead Life restaurants hundreds of times, going back to Panos & Paul's in the 1980s. And almost always the meals we have there are flawlessly prepared with perfect service. Not so this time. My daughter's fillet was severely undercooked and mine past my order of medium rare. She sent hers back which, as you can imagine, upsets the entire cadence of the meal and service. Inexplicably, the assistant waiter took my bread plate before the mains were served without bothering to ask if I was finished. On top of that the service itself was a step slow, perhaps due to a new fangled app they have to get and pay the tab at the table without any further human intervention. That said, the lobster bisque, crab and chili shrimp appetizers were all routinely excellent, and the sides-green beans, garlic mashed potatoes, Brussel sprouts and corn mash were well done, though the portions for three were a tad smallish.
