   This French restaurant, at the corner of Primrose and Chapin Aves in Burlingame, is well worth a 5-star rating on all counts. Modern, yet subtle, decor, unobtrusive period music in the background, excellent and varied selections, ample portions, and fantastic service provide a reason to return time and time again. Our party of three enjoyed the rack of lamb, the lobster ravioli, and the cassoulet. Each dish showed the attention and skills of a master chef. In addition to a la carte choices, they offer a prix fixe menu at $65 that provides an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert, with no menu exceptions, for this very sensible price. The restaurant offers a broad selection of wines and beer but does not have a full bar so anyone in need of a cocktail before dinner may feel temporary disappointment. Nonetheless, Chou Chou is fine dining!

   Wonderful Christmas eve dinner with special menu, everything was delicious and portions were generous. The staff and management are truly first class. Love going here for a meal and being treated like family. So nice having an elegant, yet relaxed French restaurant nearby.

   The ambience is lovely with elegant interior design. Unfortunately, the food was just ordinary and service rather neglectful. I was looking for an upscale restaurant for dining with my daughter who lives nearby. This was my first visit and I was not made to feel welcome.

   Soup was bland. Duck Wellington a bit dry. Charcuterie and opera cake were delicious. Served/bartender not very cordial or attentive, especially since I was mostly the only person in the restaurant. Manager proceeded to scold a busboy right in front of me just for breaking a glass. 1- this happens all the time in every restaurant, 2- reprimand in private and not in front of your customers. Likely will not return to this establishment.

   I took my wife out for her birthday at ChouChou. I’ve been wanting to dine there for a while now and finally got the opportunity. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Our server (Nida) was super friendly and very helpful. She recommended a few of her favorite dishes. We ordered the Prix Fixe dinner (starter, entree and dessert). The food was served hot and was delicious. We sat out in the patio on a very cold night, but the patio was relatively warm. My wife received a small complimentary dessert for her birthday. Our overall experience was very good.

   The table was as requested, service as expected, food very good, wine list very diverse including price levels, staff very well-trained w/ friendly demeanor & very welcome attitude. We had a very enjoyable & special evening. Thank you. Michael

   We went on a Monday night so aside from one big party in a separate room, it wasn’t busy. One gal was working both rooms and did a fabulous job. We both had the mushroom soup and cod special and both were outstanding. Opera cake for desert was great too. We were here a month ago on a Thursday and it was packed. Food and service were outstanding then too.

    Lovely space and wonderful food. Place was packed, so extremely noisy and difficult to converse. Often tried to find a server. A great place to fine when it’s less crowded.
