   Despite living nearby for more than eleven years, my wife, who has lived in the area for 30 years and I made our first ever trip to Citizen Kanes. Dinner was outstanding and has left us questioning why it took us so long and why we have eaten over and over at far less quality restaurants multiple times. Granted Kanes isn't an everyday restaurant for most, but a special occasion or evening of some greater indulgence than normal. We both ordered the Prime Filet and we prefer different temperatures and the chef nailed both temperatures. One bite in and you can tell the difference between Prime and Choice or Select. Yes you pay a price for it but unlike today's modern steakhouses, each entree came with a starter salad and a side dish (or two sides). My wife chose a baked potato which many restaurants mess up with overcooking them in aluminum foil or microwaving them---hers was perfect cooked and the skin properly seasoned with sea salt. My side of fresh veggies was excellent. We don't typically eat sugar so we passed on what is a great selection of desserts. Our server was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the entire menu. We will return!

   We have been visiting this restaurant for almost 20 years and it was the worst experience we have ever had at a restaurant. We always order the same thing and the food was seasoned right the quality was terrible. It was nothing like we have ever had there. Significantly disappointed. We have always raved about Citizen Kanes, but after today’s experience I would be embarrassed to recommend it.

   We arrived on time for our reservation and we were seated right away. Water and bread were brought to our table within a few minutes of us sitting down. We watched one of the waiters (who had a trainee with him) and kept wondering why he had not acknowledged us. After 10 or so minutes my husband finally asked the waiter on one of his trips by if we had a waiter assigned to our table and he said yes, let me find out where they are. Kit showed up at our table and did not bother to apologize. We ordered drinks. My drink came right away but my husbands did not come until after the salad was served. She said there was trouble with the coke machine. I think she should have comped the drink but happy to pay for it. I had forgotten to tell her I wanted the bearnaise sauce with my steak and she said no problem and proceeded to another table to take an order. I told my husband that she’s going to forget because she did not write it down and took an order. Sure enough when the meal came, no bearnaise sauce. She mixed up our condiments for our potatoes and had someone else bring the bearnaise sauce. The meal was delicious and we had no complaints about it at all. I am hoping this was just a one off as we have never had this kind of service before at Citizen Kanes. Always delicious and professional.

   Went for a Valentines dinner. It was nice. Nothing really stood out as exceptional though. I liked the ambiance and the server was professional. I was just underwhelmed.

   it’s been a while since the last visit to CKanes. Lexi, our server, was amazing along with the support staff. many smiles from the group and made the evening more enjoyable.

   The only disappointing thing was the fact they use some sort of vinyl tablecloth as opposed to cloth. Other than that dinner was absolutely delicious.
