We used to go to Clarity regularly when Jon Krinn was the chef/owner, but this is our first time back for dinner since then. We came to celebrate my wife’s birthday and we were really looking forward to it. The service was excellent and so was the wine, but the food was a disappointment. The dishes on the menu offered interesting and unusually ingredients. Unfortunately, we were unimpressed with the results, and it seemed that there was more emphasis on the unusual than there was on the taste. Clarity is an expensive restaurant, and as such, it has to get everything right. Although we told them through OpenTable that we were celebrating a birthday, it was never acknowledged. Based on that and the less than spectacular meal, we will probably not be coming back.

Chef Matt was a wonderful host at the chef’s counter! We chatted about his meticulous selections in meats, vegetables, wines, and preparation approaches. Victor’s beverages were delicious, as always! A memorable experience, for sure!

The food was amazing! We made it a "tapas night" out of appetizers. Started with two soups then a salad and 4 other things. I think this messed them up. Service was sketchy from the moment we ordered. Had to ask for a real knife and silverware. Didn't see our server for long periods of time. This could also be because they seated us at a room in the back. This didn't have the same appeal as the rest of the restaurant. I choose to believe these things are the reason for poor service, because the alternative is for me to think that not ordering any alcohol made our check cheap enough that we weren't worth their time. However, the food was amazing. Shout out to Victor at the bar for a lovely, though brief, experience at the bar on our way out. If we were to go back, we would likely sit at the bar for drinks.

It was a lovely evening of dining. The wait staff were very efficient (some alittle too efficient) but pleasant and accomodating. The food was fresh, delicious and well presented. My Berry Pavlova was a lovely way to finish the meal.

The new administration at Clarity is working hard to make it a wonderful dining experience. It needs a little more work to get it all right. The waitstaff needs training around wine service. Also, the kitchen needs to learn how to handle a busy Saturday without serving overcooked duck and fish. On the good side, excellent ceviche, risotto and salads, and a friendly, eager-to-please staff.

Had the tasting menu and it was great. Due to high prices, we got a bottle of wine instead of the wine pairing.

Lunch at Clarity is a treat from beginning to end - starting with the most amazing warm rolls! My colleague and I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the experience and I would highly recommend it to others. Our server, Victor, was knowledgeable about the menu and helped make the experience very pleasant.

Chef did a very good job with all three courses (no desert). My French onion soup and shrimp apt were very very good. The knock on the night was the service. Our server was really nice but literally disappeared (we had to get another waiter to take our drink and good order).
