   Prebooked for a Sunday lunchtime. Welcomed on arrival on told what table. Took a bit of time to take a drinks order but quite busy. Ordered food with the drinks. We shared a huge portion of Whitebait had to ask for another dip as range out. Mum had the Lobster bisque which she enjoyed. I had the beetroot wellington which wasn't quite what I was expecting but very nice. Loads of veggies to accompany. Roast potatoes were lovely i has to stop at 2 very tempted to eat the 3rd!. No room for dessert. £65 with drinks we paid the service charge as nothing was to much trouble. Will return.

   We were offered the full lunch menu and made our choice from this. Luckily when our order was taken, I confirmed that it was the "2 for the price of 1" offer. The waitress then left, and returned minutes later to confirm the "2 for the price of 1" menu was a different smaller condensed menu. This was a bit disappointing as the meal one of us had chosen was on the main menu. Anyway we reordered and the meal we had was delicious. I would suggest putting both menus on the table when guests arrive so they realise the offer is a smaller menu.

   Brilliant lunch at Clavells, food excellent very large portions which we couldn’t finish. Service great. Just a bit cold in the restaurant- had to keep my coat on. Will come again though.

   Clavells was welcoming, friendly and professional. The food was just excellent - extremely enjoyable, superbly cooked and presented and very tasty indeed. We loved it there and it's now our favourite place to eat in Purbeck.

   We try to eat here every time we are in the area. Today we enjoyed Sunday Roast which was just perfect, high quality meat and veg cooked to perfection and great choice of desserts.

   Lobster bisque was good, rest of the food was average. We didn’t anticipate paying West End London prices for pub grub in the sticks.

   Clavells never fails to impress. The food is always excellent . Local produce is used. The staff are very friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble. Lovely relaxing atmosphere.

   My compaion has a problem with dogs which was not helped when two large fine looking dogs arrived at the next table. The staff were extreamply understanding and arranged for us to move to another table . Many thanks,

    A mixed experience. Some of the dishes were good but others were disappointing. As an example the Whitebait was not crispy and didn't have enough Cayenne pepper toi provide the taste contrast. But service was friendly and efficient
