WHO WE ARE
Back in 2008, we set out to create a warm and inviting local favorite, a destination that would celebrate some of the best things in life - friends and family, craft beer, whiskey, great food and great music. We started small with one big coal-fired oven and only a few seats, then added more seats and a giant mural paying homage to the greats, and then we built the Whiskey Bar. We are grateful to you, the Stamford Community and beyond, our friends and neighbors, our families, for supporting us right from the start. To us, YOU are Coalhouse and this is YOUR spot! So let’s get together again as we begin our tenth year and enjoy more soulful Jazz & Blues, hand-painted portraits of the greats, cigar box guitars, hand-made découpage tables, and continue to explore an ever evolving and extensive menu of great food crafted with passion and love, made the old fashioned way.

MICE! Running around on the floor and into the kitchen! We have eaten here many times and have had an OK experience. However, my wife and I went to dinner here on 10/28/2024. While eating, we saw mice running from where people were sitting into the kitchen! My wife jumped nearly out of her seat and insisted on leaving without even having another bite. We informed the people working there, but there was no urgency, just an acknowledgment that they had a mice problem. GROSS, we will not be back!

Great food, absolutely terrible service. The first table that we sat at, was right by the windows. It was unbelievably hot and there were bugs flying around the table all evening until I asked to be moved. I don’t know if I’ll go back, maybe take out, but definitely not dining in

Coalhouse is a great place for excellent food and to listen to bands. Love the atmosphere and it’s fun to dance and hear great music!!

Delicious and love the live music!! Strange layout. Big beautiful bar area in the back and they set up the band in the family dining area. Would be better combined.

The music was extremely loud. We asked a few times if they could turn it down but the waitress said it couldn’t be done. The food was marginally good. Not a restaurant I’d run back to.

pizza went downhill- used to be much better. crust was not as fluffy.. toppings not as good.. also when serving a salad to share for the table, why not include a serving spoon? We usually are happy with the food but it appears that the quality and service has gone downhill.. please fix it!

The pizza was excellent. Service was overall good, but a little slow because they were busy. I was disappointed that the band didn't show up, but it was not the restaurant's fault. I would definitely go back and would love to hear the band next time.
