De la part des éditeur·rice·s d'OpenTable: Fine-dining vet Jordan Smith has plenty of fun with the menu at his French-ish Ferndale spot that the Detroit Free Press named 2024's best new restaurant. The sleek wooden interiors make it feel very upscale, but Coeur is totally unpretentious and laidback. Expect a seasonal menu of dishes like a branzino curry with trumpet mushroom and next-level desserts from pastry chef Carla Spicuzzi like a swanky take on a Choco Taco.     Celebrate Oregon Wine Month at Coeur with an in-depth wine class led by Sommelier Sean Crenny, focusing on the unique characteristics of the Willamette Valley. Taste five wines from this iconic region, known for its cool climate, array of unique soils, and exceptional Pinot Noir. During the 1.5-hour interactive lecture, Sean will guide you through the region’s diverse terroir, exploring some of his favorite producers. After the class, retail bottles of the featured wines, as well as rare additional selections, will be available for purchase.

    Disappointed. The pictures online are way different from reality. It’s not an upscale dining experience yet with upscale pricing.

    Great service from the moment they called to confirm my reservation. The food was delicious as well! The server was great and my only complaint is that the cocktails were not worth the money and they took a very long time to receive after ordering.

    My husband loved it! I very much liked it. The atmosphere was nicely casual and the service was perfect! The appetizers were out of this world! A few minor critiques, the mushrooms in tempura were just as they sound with no highlighted feature. However, the salad and the salmon were lovely. The entrees were portioned well and full of flavor. The ribeye steak was a bit tough though but my delight with the cod and the short rib made it seem not relevant. Desserts were exciting!

    Kimberly and Lena (Lina?) were fantastic, as were the host staff. They made a great experience exceptional.

    Wow! New to the area and this is the best meal we’ve had since moving here. Impeccable service. Great wine list. And, the food…wow! Will definitely be back.

    We had brunch yesterday, everything was awesome! The service, the food! Coeur is one of our favorite places for outstanding and imaginative food!

    The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the food. It is a small menu which I like. However, there was an Asian inspired sauce, very salty on the rhy linguine I ordered. Why something so strong on a mild dish, instead of a light lemon,oil finish? The branzini my husband ordered was a very small serving and it sat on top of the same sauce. It’s a mild fish, doesn’t need any strong salty sauce. The octopus small plate was very tender but the “mushroom beignets” were just dough with no sign of mushroom flavoring. We were told there was a “mushroom dusting” over them. It’s a very contemporary casual place, so attractively done, I just hope they can improve the menu. We are not motivated to return.

    In the top list of tasting menus. Will try more times with specific entrees. Almost embarrassed- live so close and this was the first time there. Such a diverse serving staff with all focused on the same thing…. Delivering the Best experience at Coeur. A+ for delivery. The second best wine list in the Detroit area. (You guess my top pick). Went for anniversary for the first time. Strong, very strong recommendation.

    Had the tasting menu and the theme was Fast Food February. Very creative and each course a take on fast food restaurant . Fun and the non alcoholic pairing was perfect,
