The food was really lovely, and different to anything we'd had before. The ambiance was a little lacking....maybe some fairy lights outside? The service from the young girl was poor. I believe she was probably training, but she needs to lift her game.

Service and venue was excellent. However the food was a poor attempt at "Polish food.". Pierogi, yes but not a Polish food menu. You can advertise you sell Pierogi but not a Polish menu. Good value for money.

Hi Alana, Thank you for your recent visit and for taking the time to share your feedback. We are concerned that there may be some confusion with the night-time offering. Our social media and advertisements clearly state that we are offering Pierogi (Polish Dumplings), Vodka & cocktails, not authentic Polish dishes. We are a cafe offering this as a themed night a couple of nights a week therefore we cannot offer a full restaurant menu along with our daily cafe menu due to kitchen logistics, staffing, and other restrictions in a cafe. We apologise you may have misunderstood this.

Ballarat's reputation for good food just keeps growing, and Common Ground is one of the reasons why! A warm, slightly funky vibe, charming staff, and excellent coffee were a good start. A small, but varied, menu with a strong focus on quality ingredients and artfully layered and combined flavours made pretty much everything on offer a treat. The Hashbrown Eggs Benny was lush, without being overpowering - the BBQ pulled pork seasoning was just right, the eggs were as close to perfect as its possible to be, and the slab/block/doorstep of hashbrown was straight up the best any of us have ever had. But the real jewel in the crown was the shared Crème brûlée French Toast. Oh. My. God! Fresh berries swimming in a delicious crème brûlée over two big slabs of French Toast just dripping with... I don't know what, but it was awesome! All complemented by a raspberry sorbet that's to die for. Bottom line: An after-brunch food coma is pretty much guaranteed, but what a way to go! For bonus points, on Friday and Saturday nights Common Ground becomes Sibling, a restaurant with a mouth-watering Polish-influenced menu. Haven't tried that yet, but we don't expect to be disappointed.

Wonderful cafe for a Sunday brunch with family or friends. Delicious menu with good variety and use of seasonal produce.

My favourite Ballarat Cafe! They are very welcoming and have a great menu - highly recommend build your own brunch! Very good coffee and I love the alfresco outdoor setting in most weather, just a lovely spot to relax with friends or celebrate.
