The food was delicious. The service, excellent. I’m dsappointed with the Virgin Hotel / Commons Club because the heat in the restaurant was broken/out of service/inadequate, and after using a credit card to make a reservation on OpenTable we were not given the courtesy phone call, text, email informing us of this issue in advance. It was 37° outside and they knew their heat was broken but chose not to say anything. My wife looked beautiful and was excited for our date night however she never took off her coat due to the frigid temperature in the restaurant. Trying to eat a meal and have a relaxing evening is extremely difficult when you are cold and uncomfortable. Hindsight, we should have gone elsewhere. I guess the challenge in finding parking and another restaurant on Saturday night downtown would have limited our already short time away from our children and babysitter. The manager, who was very friendly informed us there was nothing he can do which is understandable. I guess. Although I am thankful to him for the round of drinks, it seemed the extent of his assistance was limited. No fault to the manager the server or the kitchen. The hotel which operates the building the Commons Club restaurant is located in however is at fault, and most likely the reason we will not be back.

We were staying in the Hotel. The food and staff were wonderful. It made the beginning of our vacation off to a great start.

Waited longer than expected for table to be prepared after having a reservation and arriving early. Appeared to be under staffed.

To be very honest, we didn't stay to try the food cause somebody in our party was feeling sick and we left before our food came, but the entire experience prior was just not great. The restaurant in for the Virgin Hotel (which after seeing the disorganization in the lobby, we would never stay here), it was not clear where the restaurant was or even where to check in. It was very busy and hard to figure out what was going on. We finally found a host, who sat us, unfortunately next to a very big and loud table with lots of kids who were up and down, running around, making lots of noise. Our server came over pretty quick, but 20 minutes later they had not been back and the drinks still did not come. After about 25 minute the drinks came and we ordered. By that point the person in our group was not feeling well and we decided not to stay for dinner. The menu was honestly not that great and very overpriced for what was being offered. We would not come back to try the food and honestly, if this is the kind of service they provide, it is not worth the prices.

We ate in the bar which can be noisy, but we had a nice little corner table which felt intimate yet was still part of the bar experience. We had the wagyu burger with fries and the brussel sprouts. Both were excellent!

Checked in early so we could have drinks at the bar (Randall was amazing) and told hostess where we were. Went to the desk after our reservation time passed and the same person asked me if I had a reservation. :/ Was sat at a nice table, not very full - it was 6:30 on Christmas. The waiter is what did it. Took a minute to get to us, not a big deal. Asked for our drink order, placed an order for 1 glass of wine. Had to ask where it was after about 15 minutes. In asking where it was we had to stop him from leaving the table to place our appetizer order. Followed by 30 minutes of nothing. No updates, no water, no second drink order, nothing. Stopped him, again, to place our entree order. After another 15 minutes, we’re at an hour now, stopped him again, asking what was up. He looked at me like what are you talking about, I said is there an issue with the kitchen or something he said, uh yea that’s it. I said cancel the food this is Reid’s Lou’s and we left with no food on Christmas night. It was Christmas so believe me, I was willing to wait and have an enjoyable slow evening if that be the case. The fact that our server, who was later working the service bar when we left, couldn’t have cared less about us. If he was working double positions because they were short staffed (they weren’t at all. The other waiters were constantly checking their tables) just say that and then we know what to expect. Something as simple as checking in on us would have been enough. I had to lead the conversation every time we flagged him down; he was clueless as to why we would even need him.

Hostess did not seat us/was not present up until 20 minutes after we arrived. We were put in a side table next to the bar for dinner instead of the restaurant and specifically specified the Christmas Dinner menu on the reservation but were given a regular menu. Service was poor. Food was mediocre.

Great Christmas dinner. The service was excellent and the manager did a great job on the floor. The short rib is a must try. 10/10
