Compline is an award-winning wine and food destination in the heart of downtown Napa, created by veteran sommeliers Matt Stamp and Ryan Stetins. Our chalkboard menu focuses on Californian cuisine, emphasizing the bounty and flavors of Northern California.

Our 500-selection wine list focuses on handpicked local favorites and classic bottles from all over the world. A separate retail shop selection allows our guests to grab a bottle to go.

We want to bring the Napa community and visitors to our valley together to eat good food, enjoy great wine, and experience our relaxed downtown Napa hospitality.

    Experience a tasting flight in Compline's world-class Wine Shop, just three doors down from the Restaurant. Choose from two daily flights, featuring wines from both near and far. Relax in style at the bar, browse our cellar-temperature shop, take in illustrator Nigel Sussman's epic mural of the wine world, enjoy our vinyl record collection, and sip on amazing wines. This experience is for guests 21 and up— minors are not allowed in our shop.

    NOTE* The Chef's Lunch Menu is $60 per person. An additional $25 per person will be collected at the time of your reservation. The $25 prepayment serves as a deposit and will be credited towards your bill. For larger parties at lunch, Chef Edwin creates a two-course menu supplemented by our famous duck fat fries and crudités. The menu is paced at your preference—we can promptly serve a business group that needs to head back to the office, or we can provide a longer, leisurely, and celebratory lunch experience. Each guest may choose from several options for both courses. With advance notice, we are always happy to accommodate vegetarians, gluten-fee diners, and other guests with dietary preferences when writing your menu.

    Love Compline! The people there are fantastic and really know what they are doing. They also take great care of their locals! Fantastic European wine list too.

    Enjoyed Valentine’s dinner here. It’s been the best meal that we’ve had in Napa.

    Paula H was wonderful! So attentive. The food was very underwhelming! The pork belly was hard and overcooked as was the pasta. The rabbit in the lumache dish was less than two ounces! and was hard...not braised as described. The sauce, however, was delicious! The prices are for high quality level food; that is NOT what this restaurant offers. Would not waste my money here again.

    shortribs were dry, bland and did not pair well with parsnip puree which tasted more like sour cream to be quite honest.

    Most of the meal was quite fine. The main of souvlaki however was undercooked - both potatoes and eggplant had a raw taste and tough texture. All four of us had the same dish, same experience. Not edible, and left it on our plates.

    Superb dinning! Service and wine recommendation were excellent. Great cozy atmosphere. We were able to meet and talk with chef Edwin Robles, who has a vast culinary experience. Very nice and accesible. I Highly recommend this restaurant.

    We have been to compline many times and I have to say that is kind of hit and mix with the food. Some times it has been great but this last time was very disappointing. It just wasn’t good at all.

    Really pretty restaurant - comfy bar; great bartender service and good wines by the glass, but found the wine pour a little small and the wine by the glass price a little steep. Overall, the food was excellent but a little pricey which denigrates the overall value.
