   Wine selection and pairing was very good; food however was underwhelming . The ambience was very noisy, such that it was difficult to converse easily with people at the same table (of 4)

   We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch, champagne and garden tour at Coombe Estate. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the food was delicious. We found the garden tour with Rosemary to be informative and very enjoyable. Thanks for a lovely day out :)

   We also done the house tour and thought it was perfect and the tour guid was so nolagable the only thing we would suggest is that you give a pamphlet with Web sites off interest such as artists who have done paintings ect as you tend to forget.

   Lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon in the Yarra valley, I highly recommend high tea at Coombe, everything was spot on, food, bubbles and service all excellent.

   Wow, great food and service here. Main courses and desserts quite generous proportions. Lots of tables having very yummy looking high tea. Staff were so kind and smiling, makes a tremendous difference even when quite busy. It’s 5* from us

    Note - As a young couple, this was a special birthday lunch for my boyfriend and not something we do often. I rarely complain unless absolutely necessary! Positives first: - The food was absolutely delicious. Some of the best oysters we have had. The barramundi was also incredible. - Beautiful gardens and atmosphere. Restaurant interior was gorgeous. - Complimentary bread and butter. - Initial service upon arrival was great, my boyfriend was wished a happy birthday which was lovely. On to the negatives: - Appetisers and entrees came out promptly, however we waited almost 2 hours for our mains to come out! Our booking was from 11:15am - 1:15pm and by 1:00pm we still hadn't received our mains and had to ask two waitresses when they would be coming as we had booked a wine-tasting elsewhere. - Upon return from the kitchen to check where our food was, the waitress did not give an apology and simply said "Your food is coming soon, it will be out with the next round". - As it was already 1:00pm and we needed to be out by 1:15pm, the waitress suggested we put the dessert that we ordered in a takeaway box as compensation. That seems a bit insulting considering the price of the courses. I then asked what else they could do for compensation as this didn't seem fair. - The manager did not give us a discount but added one of our entrees to one of our mains to create a set menu (entree + main instead of main + dessert). We left without eating dessert as we did not have time. - Overall, disappointed with the service (not all staff, some were exceptional!) and poor attempt from management to compensate high-paying customers. Food was delicious but not sure we will be back purely because of the service.

    Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and we apologise for the long wait you experienced. A delay of this nature is unusual for Coombe and we have investigated the cause. We suspect that there was a miscommunication with your waiter who assumed your guests were continuing with a share plate and so the main course was not called from the kitchen. This has led to the delay with your main courses. We are sorry for the impact this had on your special birthday celebration. We sincerely hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future to provide an exceptional experience we know we can provide.
