Wine tasting event created too much noise. Salad had some brown tinged leaves Shrimp scampi- I think the kitchen didn’t drain the spaghetti. It was swimming in a weak tasting broth. Impossible not to drip on my shirt. Chicken Marsala tasty but wasn’t hot. Server very slow. She never cleared the salad plates after main courses served. Good news, Manager comped the whole meal.

We had a wonderful first experience here! Our waiter, Russell, went the extra mile for our anniversary and brought us truffles when we were too full for an entire dessert. We will definitely be back!

We made reservations two weeks in advance and arrived early to enjoy the tasting room, but it was too crowded. We checked in early and were told it would be just a few minutes. While waiting, we saw people attempting to get walk-in tables. The host informed them there would be an hour wait, some left. Others checked OpenTable and saw available reservations, so word spread. Several couples and groups were making reservations in the lobby, then claiming those reservations at the host stand. Due to the grace period, some even showed up 10 minutes late for their “reservation” and were seated ahead of those who had been waiting longer. No one explained what was happening, and we had to ask and share information among ourselves. Many of us were first-time visitors to Cooper's Hawk, and this lack of communication was frustrating. An employee acknowledged that this issue happens frequently and expressed frustration over it, as it causes problems. I don’t understand why OpenTable reservations aren’t stopped after a certain time (30 to 45 minutes before the reservation), preventing last-minute bookings that push others down the line. This would help avoid backlogs that disrupt both service and kitchen efficiency, ultimately lowering the customer experience. As for the service, it was disappointing. Our waiter took 10-15 minutes to acknowledge us. We weren’t given a wine list or Valentine’s menu despite asking, so I had to find them on my phone. The salad arrived and was quickly followed by the entrees, so I couldn’t finish the salad. While the food and wine were fine, nothing stood out enough to make us want to return. The service remained inattentive, and our waiter rarely came to our table. It’s standard for nicer restaurants to upsell dessert, so not even being offered a menu was surprising especially since the waiter knew we were celebrating a milestone birthday. At the end of the meal, we had to ask for the check, and even that took longer than necessary.

When the Lee's Summit location first opened, we had several excellent experiences in the first six months. However, since then, we've noticed a significant decline in both the attentiveness of the servers and the quality of the food. This was our same experience at the Plaza location.

We had a lovely evening celebrating our son’s birthday. The food, the wine and the experience was excellent. They even brought our son a complementary sweet treat after they asked if we were celebrating anything.

Checking in for reservations a bit confusing with a buncha wine tasters littering the entry but Russell is an absolute G of a server.
